"This is a great, simple drink to detox impurities from your body. It cleanses your body from the inside out. Extremely easy to drink too. Have one first thing in the morning, and one before bed. You will see the difference within a week. Try keeping this up for 1 week every month. If you can drink this everyday, it would be WONDERFUL."

"Totally 5 stars!!! I love to combine this with recipe#422807 for wonderful skin. I also like to add freshly grated ginger for tummy aches or two garlic chunks for colds. (I take the garlic out after 4 minutes) This tastes very good and definitely has benefits for the look of the skin over time as it cleans the liver. Like other reviewers I feel a need to stress the importance of using a good quality local organic honey, ie not from the regular grocers! The best honey is local to wherever we live because it helps with allergies and organic without additives. I do add more honey per preference and leave about 10 minutes with a small plate over top to keep hot and I find it has more lemon flavour which we like. I was originally debating 4 stars because I had a regular non-local honey to use. I find it doesn't taste as good as the local organic ones and more than once I felt it gives me a slight allergic reaction (non-local honey that is). Also the quality of water used is important as well. City treated water with tons of chemicals and hormones is a NO-NO for your health. I had used distilled water and would have preferred spring water. Since then I only use spring water. I never use a 1 inch slice of lemon as that is too thick. I tried it that way and it wasn't as good plus it wastes the lemon. I use about 1/4 inch slice. Oh and don't forget to wash the lemon before cutting it. A definite make over and over drink. Made for Comfort Cafe - Snow Queens Round 01/10."
"When its hot outside I make this drink and then ice it down. It's great both hot or chilled!! I feel better when I drink this twice a day and I think it helps me to get less breakouts. Yummy, too!!"
"Yum, yum! Had this first thing in the morning, and I feel cleansed already! Love the fact that it tastes good while being good for you! I'll let you know in a week if this thing works... :) Update: (a week later) It works like a charm! It MIGHT be my imagination, but I have been feeling incredibly "glowey" lately :) :) Thanks KM!"
"Note: It's best to use raw honey. Honey in its most natural state. Be weary of those with artificial flavors and high fructose corn syrup."
"I didn't choose this recipe for 'glowing skin' as originally intended, but because it sounded soothing for a cold that I'd been fighting for the last two weeks! What a difference it made for my general sense of well being, as well as helping to balance my skin. I'm 37 and have been dealing with acne for a few years now. This did wonders for clearning my skin. Thank you!!"
"WOW!! Had a basket full of lemons fresh off our tree - it's 30 degrees outside, and when I searched for lemon recipes I found this one. Just finished my third cup - tried it with and without the cayenne. It's good without, but I love it with a couple of dashes of cayenne. Thanks to KitchenManiac for a winner!!"
"This is great to have on the way to work...Really does make me feel better! Thanks for posting!"
"My daughter and I have both been using this. It seems to work when we remember to use it regularly. We use local honey and try to get organic lemons when we can. Our water is not filtered. Tastes good, too."
"Honey cannot handle water above 65c, or else it becomes a laxitive...how do you do it?"
"A great and very healthy way to start the day. Lemon is such a wonderful natural detoxify. Thanks so much for the post."
"I too had this first thing this morning and thought that it tasted great. I can't wait to see how I feel in a week! Thank for the recipe. :o)"
"Really Beautiful! I had this first thing this morning and it feels wonderful! Love the taste. I used Orange honey to make this. Just as a suggestion, I preferred to add the juice of the lemon instead of a slice of lemon because strands of the slice kept coming off the lemon and got irritating while drinking this. I'll let you know in a week how I feel. So far, I feel great and really fresh!"
"This really works! Thank you for sharing!!"
"My mom and I started this drink a week before the new year and we're still going strong. I can't say one way or the other if it has done anything for my skin, but it has taken the place of my morning cup of hot chocolate and my moms coffee. We are both big 'Zinger fans from Celestial Seasonings and love lemon in general and end up using a quarter of a lemon a piece if its a smallish one. We also have been using Buckwheat honey from the Farmer's Market. Detox or not, the tea's got a permanent place in the keeper pile. Thanks!!"
"I have very dry skin so this intrigued me, but I'm having a difficult time drinking this. The only hot drinks I like are coffee and green tea/tea with no extra flavorings. I don't like hot spiced tea, hot herbal teas, hot apple cider, those Theraflu drinks and I don't like honey much either; so you can see why I am having a hard time here. (I even splurged and bought great quality honey) I don't know that I can keep this up for two weeks (this being my 4th day), and then what happens after 2 weeks? I assume to get the benefits, you have to continue with it. I will have to update later, if I make it, but for now the taste does not suite me."
"This is SO relaxing and delicious! I used bottled lemon juice because lemons cost so much around here. Thanks for the recipe!"
"This is an excellent drink for a sore throat also. Instead of using a lemon slice, we use one tablespoon of lemon juice and we also use about two tablespoons of honey."
"This was really soothing and good. Yet so simple! We also drink this when we are sick. I used lime instead of lemon and enjoyed it very much. Thanks for sharing."
"Used this for years as a cold/sore throat remedy. Always does the trick. Never thought to use it any other way but thanks for the tip!"
