"A delicious lentil recipe from the More-With-Less Cookbook."
Serving Size: 1 (261 g)

"We are not normally lentil eaters, but I decided to try this recipe because it was cheap, easy and looked good. It was fantastic! I sprinkled it with tabasco-vinegar sauce and it was even better! Next I'm going to try making a sandwich with it. Thanks Cornelia for the great recipe!"
"This is a delicious way to prepare lentils! I have fond memories of eating lentils as a child - my mother often would order lentil soup at restuarants and I always snuck a taste. This recipe is so tasty and unique- even the lentil haters in the bunch enjoyed them this way. Very clear instructions, and makes a ton of lentils - served as a side dish, I could easily get 15 servings out of this. Thanks!"
"Excellent recipe. I added some garlic and cumin powder and had some chile sauce on the side. It was great over rice and served with a tortilla. Lots left over for the freezer for later use. Thank you Cornelia."
"These are wonderful!!! What a great flavor. I did a crock pot version, using a mix of yellow and green split lentils. I mixed the salt and all the spices (I doubled the ginger) with the lentils in my 5 qt. crock pot, poured the honey on, added the onions, poured the water in, added the bay leaf, and cooked on HIGH for 4 1/2 hours. The lentils were perfect! I used 5 1/2 cups water, and it absorbed it all. I read a lot of reviews, and I also added 4 strips of cut up, pre-cooked bacon to the lentils, when they had about 2 hours left to cook. My husband put Sriracha sauce on his, but I just ate mine plain, and we had it over write rice. This is a keeper. Thanks!"
"Another winner from the MWL Cookbook! A great dinner with a salad and some biscuits. We like the flavor of bacon, so before baking, I stirred in 4 slices of chopped cooked bacon (which is in the original recipe in the cookbook). The recipe is great as is, but next time I might tweak it some and increase the amounts of onion, mustard, and soy sauce. Especially if I decide to leave out the yummy bacon. :)"
"This is one of my favorites. As has been said, it makes a TON. For some reason every time I made this one of my girlfriends would stop by. She somehow knew it was cooking! Great flavor."
"Great lentil recipe. Slightly sweet, perhaps too sweet for those who like traditional savory lentils. Just what we were looking for. Great served over rice with pork tenderloin medallions on the side."
"Almost a great replacement for baked beans. Added real maple syrup instead of honey - great!"
"These are really good. I kind of expected them to have a baked beans kind of flavor but they didn't. They were much more mild flavored. The honey wasn't too strong either. This was a nice mild but comforting winter meal. Thanks for the great recipe Julesong....."
"Great recipe. I served it with a salad and naan. Will be making it again."
"This was a nice, economical meal, served with rice and veggies. I thought the honey was a tasty addition. I'm sure I'll be making this again. Thanks!"
"These were great! - only thing is there are a ton of leftovers. Darn :) Made with recipe #45809 and served it right over top!"
"We adore lentils and I used this recipe as a side dish for our meal. Loved the flavor but we like our lentils firmer. I will play with the recipe a bit, boiling a lot less, maybe not at all. Want to make this again but don't want such soft lentils."
"I tried it and it lacked flavour for me and also was mushy. Not Crisp like some suggested. And I used a higher oven temp too. Maybe good for soup or something but not that."
"These were delicious!"
"We loved this. We also used peachie keene's suggestion and baked the leftovers for a snack. Yummy!"
"Lentils cant get any better than this. i couldnt stop eating them. I added 2 tsp of olive oil to the mix. thanks"
