"When our first daughter was born, a friend brought us a pail of these delicious muffins. It was such a thoughful gesture and perfect to snack on during that first couple days at home. Whenever I make these now I can still "taste" those first new days of motherhood. Thank you Erna!"

"These are terrific muffins! They're moist, tasty and smell wonderful while baking. I made them exactly as the recipe states. Thanks so much Pamela for a recipe that I'll be making on a regular basis!"
"I accidentally forgot to put the sugar in the muffin mixture, and they were a little bit floury but still delicious. Can't wait to try them again--the right way. Someone who doesn't like them so sweet could try leaving out some or all of the sugar, but omit 1/4-1/2 cup of the flour if you do."
"There were excellent! I doubled the recipe and got 36 muffins (i put 1/4 cup of batter into each tin). The 20 minute baking time was perfect for my oven. I took them to a breakfast meeting at work and everyone loved them. Thanks, Pam, for posting a great recipe. Sue"
"I give this one a five star also. I when by the directions and they turned out great! What a wonderful smell they left in my house. I really like apples and this hit the spot."
"Made these today to take to welcome our new neighbors. A great fall treat. I made as directed except I added about a teaspoon of cinnamon and 1/4 teaspoon of allspice just to give the batter some more apple pie flavor. Great recipe. Thanks!"
"Easy to make, easier to eat! Even though there is quite a bit of sugar in these, it is not an overly sweet muffin. Followed directions to a T, and they turned out perfect. I deliver meals to elderly housebound--they will love these delicious homemade treats. Thank you for brightening up their day."
"Excellent! Easy to make and could easily be converted to a cake baked in a 9x9 pan. Thanks for the terrific recipe!"
"Wonderful recipe. Thanks for sharing. I did not change a thing and found these to be moist and delicious. I have been looking for a good apple muffin and this recipe is it! I used Granny Smith apples and would highly recommend them. Again, THANKS!"
"Absolutely DELICIOUS!! These are soft, wonderfully moist and yummy, yummy, yummy!! My little girl and I had a great time baking these yesterday...she especially liked sprinkling the topping on them!(and licking the bowl of course!!:) ) I used a tablespoon of lemon juice to make my buttermilk but other than that followed this easy recipe exactly. They smell awesome while baking and taste even better! These rank among the best muffins I have ever made! Thank you so much Pamela, this is a definite keeper! "
"WOW!!! these are so delicious! and very easy to make."
"These were great! I followed the recipe exactly, my only problem was my stupid oven. It heats way to hot and the temperature doesn't stay consistent. So instead of cooking (and staying) and 375 it heated up past 450, my muffins didn't have time to rise and the top got a little more well done than I would have liked. I made a double batch and froze some batter, so hopefully next time my oven is more cooperative."
"Great recipe! Easy to make and very tasty. The crunchy topping really makes them stand out. I cooked them for an extra 5 minutes as they weren't quite done after 20."
"I'm eating one of these now - warm from the oven. They are amazingly good and simple to make! I chose this recipe because I'm making them for my stepdaughter who will be giving birth next Wednesday. I'm making ahead some things that can be frozen so she can just grab something when she's hungry. The story with the recipe caught my eye and I had to try them. They are oh so good. I don't think they're too sweet - unlike some of the other reviewers but I did use granny smith apples which were quite tart. Thanks for a great recipe Pamela!!"
"Love these. I used skim milk and half butter half margarine for the batter. Still turned out great."
"My whole Family loved these. I have made these muffins twice. A few weeks ago and I forgot to rate it and take photo, this time around I am doing both :). I made them again yesterday. This morning there are only 5 left! These are easy and I love the crumbled topping which really makes these different from others. I did add a bit of cinnamon in the batter this time around, delicious! I will make these again. Thank you for posting. Made for Photo Forum, Egg & Dairy Event"
"omigosh, I forgot the sugar, and they're still really good."
"I used Macintosh apples and added walnuts and a sprinkling of cinnamon in the batter too!"
"Loved the topping with the apples. So yummy!"
"Simple to prepare and great for breakfast, brunch or snack! We loved the topping! I might add some nuts to the topping next time for a little crunch. Yummy slathered with butter and a sprinkle of sugar!"
"Fantastic. I made these for a bridal brunch and everyone loved them."
