"A tasty marinade for Halibut or Swordfish steaks."
Serving Size: 1 (212 g)
Servings Per Recipe: 1
"Very nice! I used this on some halibut pieces from Trader Joe's. Interesting that this marinade doesn't taste of any one ingredient, but is just a nice "flavor". I made up the marinade at noon and let it rest. Then added the fish at 3pm and cooked it at 5pm. I used my fish to make fish tacos which were awesome (fish, tomato/corn salsa, avocado slices and a tiny bit of light ranch dressing). YUM."
"Who'd A Thunk??!! Let me say that I am a Seafood/Fresh Catch PURIST. Give me a simple batter for frying or a simple Lemon/Butter mixture for grilling or broiling and I'm in heaven. No pasta's, no sauces, no herbs, no funky marinades. On occassion I do enjoy a Coconut Fried Shrimp but that's as far as I'll go to dress up my catch. But...I wanted to expand my horizons and after reading these reviews I decided to go for it. I was all Gung-Ho until the last minute. I had two Tilapia filets and eight Large Shrimp for the two of us and set one filet and half the shrimp back. Marinated the other filet and four Shrimp for about 45 minutes then grilled in our Fish Basket. I followed the recipe exactly but did add some Red Pepper Flakes as we always enjoy some heat. Well, the results were delicious! Have to say the Shrimp may have been my favorite but the fish was very good as well and Dh agreed! What a nice and pleasant surprise! I actually can't wait to try this on Salmon! Thank you so much for sharing! Made for Grilling Photo Tag."
"This was great! My husband loved the MahiMahi, he said the marinade made the fish. I'm not a salt person so I might cut down on the Soy next time but other than that I would use this marinade again!"
"EXCELLENT!!! YUMMY!!!! This marinade is sooooo good. I marinated a MahiMahi steak/filet in this marinade and it was excellent. The fish was tender and tasty. I made the sauce early in the day and refrigerated it for about 7 hours to let the flavors meld together. I grilled it on my tabletop/countertop crockery grill. I spooned some of the marinade over the fish after It was cooked an on my plate. I also spooned some on my baked potato. Both were so good. I will definitely be making this marinade again. I am going to try this with swordfish!! This is definitely a keeper. Thanks CL. "
"We really enjoyed this marinade. We used swordfish steaks, marinated them for a couple of hours and they turned out perfectly. Thanks!"
"A quick and easy mainade that really works for fish. I used Alaskan Cod from Trader Joes and it really flavored it up in just 30 minutes. We grilled it and served it with brown rice and grilled veggies too. Thumbs up for this marinade!"
"This marinade on fish turned out amazing.I used it on swordfish fillets and done everything as stated yummyyyy. Thanks for posting the recipe"
"If you really want to flavor up your fish try this! I used it on some swordfish I was having and then grilled them after marinating for 6 hrs. They were awesome! Rich in flavor with just the right amount of everything for us!"
"I used this to marinate some Red Fish (Red Drum) fillets that were caught fresh from the Gulf yesterday. (thanks to hubby). This marinade is outstanding! I marinated them for 3 hours then quickly pan fried the fish in some olive oil. I will definitely be using this recipe again!"
"Used this on Tilapia loins and it was delicious!!! Thanks!!"
"My "I hate fish" son and daughter both loved the halibut we marinated with this recipe! I used fresh oregano and thyme and only marinated for about 45 minutes and it was just delicious. I also subbed in tamari for the soy to keep it gluten free. Perfection."
"Outstanding! I used this to marinate Orange Roughy filets that I used for fish tacos and this is definitely the very best fish marinade we have ever had. I used freshly squeezed orange juice and followed the rest of the recipe exactly and it was just perfect. I will be using this recipe often. Thank you for sharing!"
"This was just excellent! I used it with Barbecued Tasmanian Salmon steaks and omitted the oregano ( because I didnt have any ) I marinated for 90 minutes (will leave it a bit longer next time to allow the flavours to permeate even more ) I reserved some marinade and used it as a sauce for the top of the fish when serving. I must admit to being a bit dubious about the combination of ingredients when reading the recipe but OMG it all came together so beautifully! A definite favourite!"
"Fantastic! This is the best marinade I've ever tried. I used chicken thighs and they came out moist and delicious. I'd give it more stars if I could. This is a keeper! Thanks CountryLady!"
"Okay, based on the ingredients I didn't think much of the recipe (ketchup?...seriously!), but I took a chance based on the reviews and the fact that I had all ingredients on hand. With talipia, it was outstanding, so good, so flavorful. Will use again ... maybe next time with chicken. Thanks for posting!"
"FANTASTIC MARINADE! It takes a lot to get me to come back and post! But, I feel people need to discover this one! I didn't have fish so I experimented on BONELESS SKINLESS CHICKEN BREASTS in the ROTISSERIE. It made the chicken so good I made it twice! It has the kind of flavor that really would be good on any meat in my opinion. I used a hand mixer to blend the ingredients together and used an extra clove of garlic just because I'm a garlic nut. BEYOND GOOD! I want to make it as a thin steak sauce to replace A1. You can't loose with this one! Thanks CoutryLady!"
"This marinade is much better than the sum of its parts! I read the overwhelmingly good reviews, but wasn't too excited about the recipe list. I thought this might be a little boring. Let me tell you, it is anything but! I used it on some nice halibut filets, and it turned out delicious! SO SO flavorful. My husband and I both looked at the recipe list and couldn't figure out why the fish tasted so good. It was excellent! Will be making this one again and again."
"Very tasty! We used it on shark, and it turned out great! Thanks for the recipe :)"
"Marg, this is absolutely the best fish marinade I have ever tryed! I used this on thick halibut steaks, and then made them on the outdoor grill. I marinated them in the morning (about 8 hours marinating time). OMG the fish was delicious! we really enjoyed the fish dinner tonight with baked potatoes and a salad. Thank you so much for another winner!...Kitten:)"
"This was a terrific marinade!I used it with Halibut. Put the fish in the marinade in the morning and grilled the fish on the BBQ in late afternoon. It was very tasty! Thanks!"
