"This is close but not as excellent as KFC, however it is very good overall. I wish to note that CAMPBELLS & Franco-American are exactly the same gravy made in the same factory for those of you who can not find the Franco brand."
"I've been trying to duplicate the KFC chicken gravy for 20 years and am grateful for having found this recipe. In short, this gravy rocks! I used both homemade chicken broth and beef gravy and couldn't be more pleased with results. It tastes almost exactly like the Colonel's! Using homemade ingredients also helps to control the salt content. The only addition I made was to add a smidgen of MSG to further enhance the flavor. I would rate this gravy ten stars if I could."
"This is pretty good. I add a bit of garlic powder to zip up the flavor. Not exactky like KFC but decent."
"This gravy is very good. However, there's definitely a little something missing to call it a KFC clone."
"Made this for dinner last night and halved the recipe. I ran out of chicken bouillon cubes so I had to resort to using a flavor packet from a chicken ramen package i had stashed in the pantry. Turned out surprisingly good and my family all raved about it. Used it to make open-faced turkey (chopped) sandwiches, complete with stuffing, toasted bread and melted provolone/parmesan cheese. It was delish! Thanks so much."
"This is good. I bought the ingredients for this gravy a long time ago. I finally got around to fixing it and am so glad I did. DD was eating it with a spoon (is this a bad thing???? lol) I will make this again when needed. Thank you for sharing."
"Cinnamon; just a sprinkle of cinnamon, lots of pepper, and a sprinkle of ground chili powder, and it was perfect. Also: I made mine with half chicken broth, half beef brother, flour browned in bacon fat, and salt. After the flour browned, I added cold water, stirred until it thickened, added cinnamon, more pepper, and chili powder, then enough cream (about half a cup in five or six cups of gravy) to make it look right.."
"It's close but there's something off, something missing. Can't put my finger on it."
"Very good gravy recipe, I doubled it. I, however didnt think it tasted exactly like KFC, but it was still very good never the less. Thanks for the recipe."
"i made this for my boyfriend and actually had some real kfc gravy to compare it to and you could hardly tell the diffrence. but the next day the left over flavor changes to a very beffy flavor. great job ."
"Oh my! I'm totally not a gravy person, but this was fantastic and it DOES taste just like KFC! I couldn't find franco american beef gravy, but found a jar of Heinz beef gravy that seemed to work well. Mind was pretty salty (great for taste, but DH was taking his wedding ring off later!) so next time, I might used reduced sodium boullion to help. Thanks for a great recipe!"
"I made this gravy to go with mashed potatoes and rancho chicken I made for supper today..My DH does not like chicken gravy, but he ate this and liked it..We cant get franco american gravy here so I opted for Aunt Nellies Beef Gravy, also I didnt have any chicken broth so I used chicken bouillion broth..This didnt taste like KFC but it was a close second..Maybe if I had the gravy asked for,but it was still a hit at our house..I will be making this gravy again..."
"This was incredibly easy and tasty! I didn't use the blender either, just whisked it in the pot. Oldest DS had previously worked at KFC and said that this did taste just like theirs. I am not sure, but do know it was very good and I will be sure to make it again as the DD's who will normally only eat brown gravy liked it as well!"
"mmmm this is the best gravy i've made and it was so easy and fast! i didn't do the blender part. just wisked it w/ my hand. still turned out smooth and perfect. VERY close to kfc's gravy. fyi i used campbells instead of franco since it was cheaper but it still came out delicious. thank you for sharing!"
"We enjoyed this very much and will continue to make this with our fried chicken and mashed potatoes since it is so easy to prepare. Oh yeah, and a "pinch" of sage goes a long way so don't go overboard like I did the first time ;) and it will turn out great. Also, I used low-sodium, low-fat chicken broth, Campbell's beef gravy, and I also just mixed up the water and cornstarch in the measuring cup I was using with a fork and it blended fine...no need to dirty the blender! Thanks for sharing!"
"Thanks for the delicious recipe! I used Heinz Homemade style beef gravy, and it worked out great!"
"This Is the real deal! Tastes exactly like KFC. I used Campbells beef gravy."
"YUMMY! This is just like KFC!! It is a huge hit with my family and it makes plenty..LOVE THIS"
"KFC is my favorite restaurant gravy. This tastes JUST LIKE IT...I SWEAR! It was so easy and I used Campbells beef gravy. I whipped up some instant mashed taters and was instantly transported to the Colonel's table. YUM YUM! No more late night runs for me..I can make this at home! Thanks a bunch, DiB!"
"This gravy is awesome! My husband said it does taste like KFC's gravy. I could not find Franco American gravy (did Campbells buy them out?), so I made brown gravy with 2 packets of instant and added a little extra water and used that instead of the 2 cans. It was very easy to make and delicious!"
