"A very simple recipe with gourmet taste! From Food and Wine Magazine. The flavors of the smoked salmon, Gruyere cheese and Dijon mustard complement eachother very nicely. I enjoy the hint of lemon, too. This makes a simple lunch special."

"I looked high and low for brioche bread and couldn't find it, so I used an white bread which was recommended by our baker. The flavours (gruyere cheese, smoked salmon & Dijon mustard) were delicious. Our baker had never heard of brioche bread and explained to him it was a buttery French bread, he said maybe it had a short life span and that's why I couldn't find it. :( Anyhow the panini was a delight. "I adore smoked salmon, so this was right up my alley! I couldn't find any brioche, so I went with a fresh croissant instead (close enough, I thought). I only made a single serving, but I added a bit of extra salmon, just because I could. The Dijon mustard and lemon zest were great here. This was definitely a nice lunch upgrade, thanks for posting! "Comfort food! The brioche was soft and tender inside and crisped out outside, the cheese oozed, the salmon provided texture and smokiness, the mustard just the right amount of 'bite'. Perfect!"
"DH was tickled to death with what he called the best recipe ever. I left the directions on the counter along with a couple of slices of brioche so that all he had to was remove the sliced salmon and gruyere from the refrigerator, layer and grill.
