"This cake is fabulous! It falls into the category of one of the few desserts that is better than most chocolate desserts. I cannot say enough about how much my family loves it. It is truly one of the best scratch cake recipes I have ever found and I make it whenever I need a guaranteed-to-be good cake. It also works well as cupcakes, which tend to be better for potlucks. Even my Dad, who does not like cake, will eat this."
"I've made two of these the first was a test and the test subjects devoured it. The second was made for an italian themed pot luck party they also scoffed it down! the next day I recieved emails for the recipe!!"
"This was the best cake I have ever had!! It is like eating a cloud....I did double the cream cheese icing. I wish I could give it 10 stars!!! :)"
"Really loved this cake, and so did eveyone at the gathering I went to. The only change I would make is the recipe calls for the nuts to be stirred into the icing, which really made it hard to put on the cake. Next time I am going to sprinkle the nuts on top and sides as the picture shows."
"Family and friends LOVED this! One man had three servings within 3 hours. I didn't add the pecans to the cake itself, and reserved half the coconut for the icing. I put the coconut and pecans in the cream cheese icing - I'd had Italian Cream Cake this way before and liked it better. Making it again tonight for my parents birthdays! I think I'm going to try putting 1/4 cup margarine 1/4 cup cream cheese IN the cake this time."
"The first time the cake fell apart on me, then instead of using my hand to flip the cake I used a plate to help me. The cake was awesome from what little time the cake was around. Everyone said that was the best recipe for the Italian Cream Cake. I had tried other recipes for that cake. Thanks for the receipe. DWS"
"Baked recently for my sister-in-law's birthday--everyone loved it. I increased the frosting by a half, we tend to like a lot of frosting. I was glad I did."
