"Great snack to munch on while watching your favorite British programs. Drink with Strongbow cider ;-) Tip: DO NOT USE AMERICAN Pork & Beans, Boston Baked Beans or "Bush's Beans" etc... ONLY Heinz or Batchelor's brand please, otherwise it might be gross. Don't worry; most American grocery stores sell HEINZ and BATCHELOR'S, in the International/European/English/Irish aisle. I've been all over the US and found them in Safeway, Kroger, Stop & Shop, etc. I've never not been able to find one of those two brands in the USA."

"Yay :) my favourite uni meal! Also nice with curry powder added to the beans!"
"Thank YOU for posting an honest-to-goodness "regular" recipe for Beans on Toast...the offiicial food of college students and hangover sufferers! LOL I've been eating this for years, just as you posted it and Heinz Baked Beans from the U.K. are the ONLY way to make it! As a twist, when we're really ravenous is to toast the bread and butter it, make the beans, and add a slice of good English Cheddar on top of the toast before dumping on the beans. Even when I have a pocketful of money, sometimes you just need the simplest and cheapest of comfort foods to make the day feel better!"
"Definitely a true comfort food. I don't add anything extra to mine - just beans on toast. Although a lot of people use white bread, I prefer to use whole grain. It still tastes fantastic though!"
"Real comfort food! Just a thought for those of you making this lovely snack. It's also very good if you spread the toast with some cheese spread, or a slice of processed cheese. You can also sprinkle on some grated cheese before you spoon on the beans. Always under the beans so the cheese goes nice and gooey!"
"I think Heinz baked beans on toast must be the number one snack food in the UK. I made mine with brown bread buttered with Kerrygold butter and a dash of HP Sauce. Pure comfort food. Thanks BBCFan for a great breakfast."
"Used Heinz veg baked beans over 2 slices of homemade white bread. Also fried up a couple of eggs to go alongside. Love the yolk and beans together. Topped mine with a little HP sauce. Made for PAC fall 2009."
"one of my very favorite comfort foods, i like to add a splash of malt vinegar over mine. must follow the advice and only use heinz or bachelors."
