"The recipe is different from others posted in that it contains raisins and almonds. The English translation of Glühwein is "glow wine." The mulled wine got its name because it radiates heat and gives the drinker a glow."

"This recipe was the best tasting Gluhwein I have tasted! I normally like a sweeter type of wine. The sugar and raisins gave it a wonderful taste that was not too sweet. I made it for a "German" themed party this weekend and everybody raved about it. Needless to say it was gone with a few minutes. Definately make a double recipe."
