"I came upon this recipe with the help of Duncan Hines, as this was on the side of the box. I changed it up some and it's to die for! If you like lemon, you'll love this pound cake!"
Serving Size: 1 (32 g)

"I have been making this cake for a long time and it's always a hit with everyone. It is super moist with lots of flavor. We like it with fresh or frozen blueberries and freshly grated lemon rind which only enhances the flavor of this cake greatly. You really don't need to frost the cake, it's perfect without it, you can sprinkle with some confectioners' sugar. This cake is a must try."
"Have made this cake occasionally (only resort to a cake mix base if rushed) but do not use lemon extract because it is too artifical for us. Prefer to add either lemon juice or lemon zest. Also, poppy seeds, as someone else suggeted, are a very good addition."
"This cake is delicious. I, too, cut it from a Duncan Hines cake mix box years ago, and would make it each year for my Uncle's Birthday; as it was his favorite! I would add 1 TBSP poppy seeds to the batter, and make a simple glaze from powdered sugar and lemon juice. YUMMY!"
"Yummy!!!!! I love lemon and this was great...I used 4 tsp of lemon extract. I would not use more than that though.
Thanks BeanPole for a great moist yummy cake.
Made for PAC spring'09"
"I have made this for years. It is also great if you throw in a couple of hands full of blueberries. I just made it in cupcakes to take to work. Easier for everyone to grab one. I didn't have any frosting so I just used powdered sugar mixed with a little lemon juice. Tried lemon extract but to chemically tasting., Stuck glaze in a plastic bag, cut the tip and drizzled it on the cupcakes. So simple."
"Very, Very good lemon cake. Very Simple to Make, too. I add 1 Tbs of poppy seeds to mine. Also, I use sugar free lemon pudding mix and no one knows the difference! This recipe is a common request from my co-workers. Delicious and simple."
"This cake is so delicious. Super-moist just as stated. It has great lemon flavor and is so easy to fix. Thanks for posting this recipe."
"Excellent lemon bread! This cake has a great texture and flavor. Thanks for posting!"
"WOW! Why did you post this! I'm trying to eat healthy and now this!! Love it! Reminds me of Starbucks Lemon Loaf but way cheaper and so easy to whip together. I'm about to wow some people with this little number!"
"Delicious lemon pound cake and so easy to prepare. I didn't have lemon extract for the frosting so I just used fresh lemon juice & grated lemon rind and used the whipped Duncan Hines cream cheese frosting. Yums!"
"We definitely enjoy lemon anything around here, & this pound cake recipe make A GREAT TASTING LEMON TREAT! I used almost 3 teaspoons of lemon extract for the frosting, & loved every bit of it! A very nice keeper of a recipe! [Tagged, made & reviewed for one of my adopted chefs in the current Pick A Chef]"
