About This Recipe
"Classic recipe for macaronia salad"
Ingredients
- 2 cups cooked macaroni
- 2 hard-cooked eggs, chopped (optional)
- 1/4 cup chopped celery
- 1/4 cup chopped onion
- 1/3-1/2 cup mayonnaise or 1/3-1/2 cup Miracle Whip
- 1/2 teaspoon mustard
- 2 teaspoons vinegar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
Directions
- Combine ingredients. Chill before serving.

"Classic indeed! Wow, I loved this salad, I followed this exactly and even used the optional hard-cooked eggs. The celery and onion really added such a nice crunch and the mayo, mustard, and vinegar made a delightful dressing that moistened all of the pasta up. "Yes, this is the good old classic, crowd-pleasing macaroni salad. I added some extra onions, but otherwise stuck to the recipe. As with most macaroni salads, if it chills for awhile, you need to moisten it by stirring in some milk before serving. Thanx for posting!"
