"OH, baby. Made these exactly as the recipe stated and they are fabulous. Fudgy and intensely chocolate, and nice and crunchy outside. FYI to those who didn't make the recipe as stated, why get on here and talk about it?"
"These are the best brownies I've ever made and possibly ever have eaten. They are dark and very chocolately without being sweet. The texture is perfect - lush, moist and rich. These are not for someone who likes cake-like brownies but if you like your brownies fudgy without being soggy these are fantastic!"
"Wow, what a terrific brownie recipe Bev. These little gems are the bomb. So rich, decadent and full of flavor. I was in chocolate heaven for at least 15 minutes after I finished my first brownie. Then I had another and another. I'm going to have to hide them so that I don't eat them all myself. The brownies were wonderful, crisp on the outside and fudgy and perfect on the insde. Thanks for sharing a new family favorite."
"These were absolutely wonderful. My DH just loved them. Thanks for sharing."
"I made this recipe on 8/12/12 for the " Beach Party " in the Food Photo Forum. Except for cutting the recipe in half ( did use 3 eggs though )it was made as written. And since my SO doesn't care for nuts, those were left out.My SO really enjoys these, but I thought they were just o.k.. Thanks for posting and, " Keep Smiling :) ""
"Deep, rich flavor. Not overbearingly sweet. Feels less guilty knowing the benefits of eating dark chocolate."
"My daughter chose these to take for an end of semester party and everyone enjoyed them. I sprinkled pecans on top of half the pan rather than mixing nuts in the batter so that it was easier to make some with and some without nuts."
"These are delicious! Definitely a keeper! They were so easy, too. Thanks for sharing the recipe!"
"Excellent Brownie with a dark fudgy taste. Have also topped these with Creamy Peanut Butter Frosting recipe #111131 or added peanut butter chips and had excellent results as well. Thanks Bev for a great recipe!!"
"These are so good!!! The best brownies I've ever had!!! So moist and yummy! This recipe is a keeper! I didn't add the walnuts."
"If I could I'd give these brownies 10 stars! Very moist, and extremely chocolatey! I used Hershey's Dark Chocolate cocoa powder. As my friend stated, this is just how a brownie should be!"
"These are great! I've always wanted to try some dark chocolate brownies but could never find a recipe that looked right. Only thing I changed was to use nonstick spray and cocoa powder in the pan. Thanks Bev!"
"Wow - these are terrific! Not really all that sweet, just rich and chocolatey. I halved the recipe with good results, did not use the optional walnuts, and baked mine for 35 minutes. This a brownie recipe I'll use often - thanks for sharing it! Made for the Best of 2008 event"
"What boyfriend? That's what you'll say after nursing your heartbreak with these brownies! These are the cure for romance gone awry, the man who done you wrong, a terrible day, an awful boss, a crying baby--you don't even need an excuse! These brownies will cure all ills. Bev, I don't know whether to thank you or kick you (not really). Thanks for blowing my diet! These are the BEST brownies EVER--but, I won't be making them very often--only when a man does me wrong! LOL! OOPS: Update: Try sprinkling with a little cayanne pepper for a real kick! Yummy!"
"Wow! These were the moistest, most decadent brownies I've ever made! They were absolutely wonderful. I'm starting to become a fan of yours, Bev, because every recipe I've made that you have submitted has been a huge hit at my house! Thanks for the fabulous recipe!"
"I never get excited about brownies...UNTIL NOW! I LOVE dark chocolate and FINALLY have a brownie recipe for ME! No more picking at the edges and making faces. THIS is good stuff! I used my favorite Ghirardelli bittersweet chocolate and farm-fresh eggs (got a bonus double yolk, too!) The hubby ate a few while still warm with real vanilla ice cream...and was VERY quiet until it was gone! Next time I'll toast the walnuts so the flavor really pops! I doubt anything else could be improved! Thank you for posting! (Or maybe not!!! Ha!)"
"Warning - for chocolate lovers only, as this is insanely rich! Very easy to prepare. I served it on the warm side with some Haagen Das vanilla ice cream, and made sure I added the walnuts. Thanks for posting this!"
