"An interesting & very satisfying way of preparing spaghetti, both in the preparing & in the devouring of it! Very, very rich for what we usually eat, but a very nice main dish for company, that's for sure! I did cut way back on the bacon (& used bacon bits), but followed breezermom's suggestion & stirred in 2 tablespoons into the spaghetti & then sprinkled a about the same amount over the top of the baked pasta! "Made this for lunch today and received rave reviews from all the kids. Three of the kids held up five fingers as the slurped in their spaghetti however; DS after finishing a mouthful exclaimed loudly "Mmmmmmmm-mmmmmmmh! Mommy, this gets 100 stars!" This will definitely be made again and again at our house. Oops, I almost forgot to mention that we omitted the bacon because we are not big pork eaters. "Wonderfully yummy! :) Do thank your aunt for this delicious recipe, weekend cooker: we loved it. Like the earlier reviewers, I loved the easy preparation, that it was baked in the oven and that there were no tomatoes. Nothing against tomatoes but it's so nice eating non-tomato-based pasta dishes for a change, and I must confess that in restaurants it tends to be the non-tomato-based pastas that I choose. I doubled the garlic, added probably two cups of sliced mushrooms, minced onion and thyme and for us this made six ample serves, so I had several serves to add to the freezer. Next time I make this, I'm going to add some sliced leek (another favourite ingredient) and a couple more herbs. Made for 1-2-3 Hit Wonders."
"Oh so rich! I made this exactly as posted. Loved the fact that I baked it for a little while to get the salads on the table. I used 12 slices of bacon, but stirred two pieces of the crumbled bacon into the mixture, putting the rest on top. I will definitely make this again, but I'll add a little more garlic and maybe some mushrooms while the butter and garlic are cooking. I think this would serve more like 8 people though. It is very rich and a filling. DS gave it a 4, I give it a 5 for ease of making and rich taste. Made for Potluck tag."
"Very like one of our favorite recipes for Pasta - so no surprise that we loved this one! What makes this extra special for me is the technique used in getting that wonderful pasta to the table. The pasta in the oven allows for getting to all the last minute extras and serving the pasta hot as it should be - a big plus when having guests.
