"Delicious apple dish. Next time, I will stir in the cinnamon with the other topping ingredients to give the topping a little more flavor."
"I've tried many apple crisp recipes and this one is a real winner! I love the crisp texture of the topping over the apples. I made exactly as the directions indicated by Miss Annie. So easy to prepare and a delight to serve! This very likely may become the standard apple crisp in this house! I thank you once again for a delightful recipe, Miss Ann!"
"I have been in search for an apple crisp recipe to suit my sweet tooth for many years. This has got to be the best. Thanx so much for helping me conclude my search."
"This was definitely a winner in our house. I used a combination of sliced apples, peaches and raisins. Served it piping hot with vanilla icecream - what a hit it was!! Thanks "
"Very good, I stirred the cinnamon into the dry ingredients and it tasted great. I didn't have any oatmeal for a traditional crisp and am very glad that I didn't. My husband enjoyed this quite a bit. Quick and easy. Thank you. "
"This was very good. I haven't had apple crisp since I was in school~I've always been afraid to make it. I'm not afraid anymore~~very easy. Thanks for another great recipe Miss Annie."
"Very Very Good! Easy to make."
"We loved this apple crisp, I think the added egg gives it that extra flavour and crunch. I used Granny Smith apples. The best apple crisp Ive tasted. =)"
"I replaced the sugar with Splenda and this still turned out wonderful! This is by far better than the crisps with the oatmeal topping. This is the one I will use from now on! It was certainly a very easy dessert to put on the table. Thanks Ann! You continue to give me winners!!"
"Perfect Apple Crisp! I had a ton of apples from apple picking and this recipe was fantastic!"
"I do not usually find apple crisp recipes very extraordinary , but this one was actually very nice. I baked it a medium-sized round casserole dish, which is unconventional but turned out so well that way, that it is the way I will always prepare it. A+++."
"I used cardamon instead of cinnamon and I really loved it! I ate the whole thing myself throughout the week. It was too good to share :)"
"This was delicious. I used 6 small apples and should have used more due to their size. The flavors were great though. The kitchen was smell so nice."
"I made this last night for my family. I served ice cream on top and it was a hit. I liked the different topping as opposed to the oatmeal crumble on top. This had nice crunch and the recipe was a snap to make. Thank youfor sharing your recipe with us."
"Wonderful! I was looking for a crisp without oatmeal topping, and followed the recipe exactly. Made it for a dinner party and got so many compliments!"
"This was really good! I've never made apple crisp before but I was given some apples so I figured I'd give it a shot. I followed the recipe but I used a glass baking dish instead of a pie pan. My topping was really done...I have a really hot oven and should have only cooked it for 30-35 min., that was my fault. Nevermind that it was delicious! There are two of us so we've had a dessert for three nights in a row and have been looking forward to it ;) I'm not really a person that buys apples but if they appeared I'd use them to make this again!"
"Made this on Thanksgiving. My whole family loved it! Excellent!!"
"I've been going thru alot of apple crisp recipes trying to find one like the kind I grew up on in Catholic school cafeteria, and this is it! The best there is! I will make this the rest of my life - thank you! UPDATE 11/02/2008.. I just read the review where the member said they followed the recipe exactly EXCEPT left out the baking powder, then complained about the results, and said she'd never make it again? Oh come on, does anyone else find this foolish? Sheesh!! I have now made this recipe 4 times following the recipe EXACTLY as written and my family and I love it, and I will continue to make it.."
"I tried this recipe thinking it would probably be too runny but it turned out soooooooooooo darn good!!! I live in a high altitude area so I turned down the heat a bit and baked it longer. I also baked it in a casserole dish rather than a pie tin, checked it by tipping the dish from time to time until I could see there wasn't too much liquid. I don't usually do this but I took a chance and brought this as a dessert for a family gathering without trying it out first. Needless to say, it was a hit :) The spices were perfect and it baked down to a perfect crisp to serve with ice cream. Thanks for sharing! We totally enjoyed it and it was so easy to make."
