"Well.......... What can I say! Crunchy, creamy, sweet and caramely.
We just loved this ice-cream, and we are not big caramel fan's here!
I followed as written, although I did use caramel Tim Tams and the best of all, I just bought a cheap ice-cream to use and this recipe turned it into a top quality ice-cream.
DS who is on a health kick tried it and devoured it, although he thought it did not need the caramel sauce, because the ice-cram was so good on its own, so that is saying something.
Tim Tam's come in so many flavours now, I think this could be turned into any flavour ice-cream, I quite like the thought of using the Turkish Delight Tim Tams, and ewww rich chocolate sauce.....yummmmy.
This recipe is going to be used so many ways by me now, and buying cheap ice-cream will be the way to go for me!!!!!!!!! lol
Thanks so much katew, we all loved this ice-cream."
"*Reviewed during ZWT5 Australian visit for Team Chow Hounds* Kate...this was FANTASTIC!!!! Being gluten-free...of course I cant taste any...but my family are raving about this wonderful dessert :) I made a double quantity-so used 2 packs of Tim Tams and two bags of Darrel lea Jersey Caramels. This is one batch of ice-cream that sure wont be in my freezer for long!!! Photo also being posted"
"A tasty and delicious Australian version of the American 'Blizzard' from Dairy Queen. This is very easy to make, the hardest part was waiting for it to refreeze without eating it all. I used Schwans brand to make mine. katew was kind enough to send me a box of Tim Tams and the jersey caramels, thank you dear. If you never tried a Tim Tim you must, they are so yummy. The jersey caramels are not like our American caramels. I'd say jerseys are a drier type and they have a white cream candy layer in the middle. The American caramels are more fatty/oily. Back to the Tim Tam use them as a straw by taking a small bite off of opposite corners. Then drinks your favorite hot beverage through it. Your beverage should be closer to lukewarm or you will be a chocolate mess. lol"
