"A frosting just like the bakeries use on their cakes and there is no refrigeration required--it may be kept for 3 months covered in the refrigerator just bring to room temperature before using. Recipe yields 8 cups of frosting. You will love this!"

"I have made this 2 times in the past week. it is my new go-to frosting recipe. I use it for everything from fancy retirement party cakes to simple cupcakes.
I like to use 1 1/2 cups shortening and 1/2 cup butter. This gives a nicer flavor and mouthfeel. I only use vanilla, no almond, and get rave reviews. This holds up very well to piping, spreading and decorating. For chocolate, add 1/4 to 1/2 cup cocoa powder. Thanks!"

"Wonderful recipe. I used it on a "Spyro Castle" cake I made for my son's birthday and took to a waterpark! It withstood the heat like a champ. It was a little hard to decorate with, but I think that is bacause I got the icing a little too soft and didn't want to mess with thicking & messing up the color I had already mixed. "I was really excited to try this recipe, being dairy-free and with rave reviews. My son has a milk and egg allergy, and although I've used other frosting recipes satisfactorily, I thought I'd look for a new one.
I bought what I needed, and am really disappointed to find that Coffee-Mate "non-dairy" creamer is NOT TRULY DAIRY-FREE, since it contains sodium caseinate. That's a deal breaker for all people allergic to milk. Apparently gov't regulations allow it to be technically labelled dairy-free despite the ingredients. So for those (few, perhaps) allergic to milk, just a word of caution. There are some powdered soy creamers out there, but I haven't seen any nor have the time now to shop. I'd love to try this recipe sometime in the future, but I'll have to stick with my previous ones instead."

"Absolutely awesome! It made a large batch. I doubled it in my 6qt kitchen aid and it was smooth as silk. I substituted the almond (yuk) and used a combination of butter, orange and lemon extract. Absolutely to DIE for. And I make a BUNCH of cakes for my shop. Thank you for sharing it. Its my go to. (PS. it make a difference using a generic coffee creamer instead of Coffee Mate. In flavor and texture. Also use a Viva paper towel to smooth the surface of your cakes...its beautiful)"
"I was looking for an icing recipe that was more like a bakery's icing(light and fluffy) but still had the taste I love of cream cheese. I tried this recipe with 1/2 the cream cheese and1/2 the shortening and I was so impressed I will use it on a wedding cake I am making next month. "Great frosting, just made it and turns out really fluffy with my KitchenAid and wire attachment. I added extra almond because I love it...next time lemon...who knows maybe even cherry! I would recommend allowing the creamer to dissolve before tasting...while it's still gritty...not good but it only takes a few minutes to do that. Thanks!"
