"This is a nice rice to make especially when you want a nice color contrast. With the turmeric, it colors the dish a dark yellow. From Quick and Easy Weeknights."

"This was a great basic rice recipe! It came together quickly and easily and was super tasty! The turmeric, garlic and (spring) onions made for a lovely flavour combination.
I used a mix of wild rice, rice, barley, oat kernels and buckwheat instead of just plain rice and that worked out really well.
THANK YOU SO MUCH for sharing this keeper with us, lazyme. Made and reviewed for WTTM December 2010."
"VERY good! I served this with Recipe#260950 I used chicken broth instead of water and sauteed the Turmeric along with the onions. I do that with curry powder, cumin and paprika as well. It makes a big difference."
"For us the rice was bland besides tasting the onions and garlic. So next time I will use chicken stock instead. The color was great. Thanks Lazyme :) Made for PAC Fall 2012"
"This rice was garlicky indeed! It went well with our grilled chicken. Thanks for posting the recipe."
"Great easy recipe. I think my turmeric is old because there was a slightly gritty flavor, but that's my fault. Thanks for the keeper!"
"I needed a yellow rice recipe for Recipe #252216 and this worked out perfectly. :)"
"Made this pretty much as indicated in the recipe but did substitute lemon pepper for the S&P! I was after the colors when I served this rice dish along side a very tomato salad, & dish of steamed green beans & some breaded chicken breasts that were nicely bake to a dark brown! Loved it! Thanks for sharing! [Tagged made & reviewed in I Recommend tag]"
"This good and garlicky. I will make again, this time I will add a bit more salt, which I don't need."
"I made this to serve with Recipe #315166. This rice is very yellow & so pretty on the plate. It could be served with many different types of cuisines & I know I will be using the recipe again. I will up the salt for our families preferences. Thank you for sharing your recipe!"
"I'm throwing bouquets and kisses! I used homemade broth instead of water and did add the green onions for color. This is far superior than the packaged mix. I'm sending a big muuuuuhhhhhaaaa!!!"
"I enjoyed this recipe very much, I took the suggestion of one of the reviews to use chicken broth instead of water. I used garlic powder instead of garlic cloves because we were out of garlic but had all the other ingredients at hand. That worked ok, but I think it will be nicer next time I try it with fresh garlic. I served it with fish. Thanks for sharing this recipe!"
"We made this as stated and found it to be a nice rice dish. Like another reviewer, we did need to add some salt to it. Thanks for posting."
"This was a great recipe. The directions were perfect and resulted in fluffy, tasty rice. I think next time I will replace half, if not all of the water with chicken broth to add another layer of flavour."
"Used basmati rice and no green onions. This was very good and it was a perfect side dish to recipe #158453! Thanks lazyme! :) Made for Photo Tag."
"Absolutely gorgeous! Very tasty, too, but I needed to add a lot more salt and some garlic powder to suit our tastes. Thanks for posting, lazyme!"
"We all really enjoyed this rice and that is saying something because my son and daughter do not like rice, or so they say. Followed this recipe exactly. Great recipe!"
"Outstanding! I do not cook my rice on the stove but in a rice cooker in the microwave. My water and my rice amounts would be different.. but this is very good. I used cilantro instead of green onions since there was white onions in the mix already."
