"This taco seasoning is just perfect! I make three or four batches at a time and put them in ziploc bags for convenience. Once you try this you'll never buy a packet of taco seasoning at the grocery store again! MSG gives me a headache, so years ago I went on a quest for a great taco seasoning recipe. This is what I found (I just don't remember where). This will season a pound of ground whatever (or a bag of Morningstar Farms Veggie Crumbles- nobody will ever know it's meat-free). Hope you like it!"

"I used this taco mix in a dip that I was making. I could not tell the difference from the packaged kind. Thanks for posting this Melissa!"
"This was right on. I used this in Yummy Crock Pot Shredded Chicken for Tacos #313793 and it was perfect. I will definately use this again. Made for Let's P-A-R-T-Y tag game 2010."
"Excellent flavoring. Just the right amount of spice for us. I made this as stated and wouldn't change a thing. I used this to make recipe #347013. Thanks for sharing."
"This is a very nice mix. I did substitute No salt for the salt and cut back on the dried onion ( I am not fond of the taste) and used granulate garlic . I have not used it but did a taste test . Great blend of seasonings Made for My Faves 2008 Tag"
"This was great. I had all the spices on hand and was able to have tacos without having to go to the store. I used 3/4 cup of water with the seasoning and found that to be just right. Thanks for the recipe. I like homemade things so I can have control of what goes in it."
"EXCELLENT!!! First of all, I LOVE the fact all the ingredients to make this Taco Seasoning I always have on hand! I made this as directed, but using 3/4 cup water as Klyn did. My husband and I both have high blood pressure, plus my husband cannot tolerate heat like I can. We both like the fact that we can control the salt and heat content of the Taco Seasoning. After finishing dinner, my husband said the tacos tasted better than the packaged stuff, it had a very nice balance of spices. For me, I like mine a little hotter, so I just added jarred sliced jalapeno peppers. No more packaged stuff in our house anymore. Thank you, Melissa, for sharing your recipe with us!!"
"Another great recipe! (Can't get by without my Recipezaar~). I had tried other recipes for this seasoning before with no luck, but this one is absolutely perfect! I used it last evening in Recipe #280905 (used this full receipe in the Idaho Tacos, adding 2/3 cup water to the meat mixture). Thank you for a great recipe!"
"This taco seasoning is great and the results are just like the packaged mix you buy at the store, only with better taste! You were right on with your balance of ingredients and this is stuff I always have on hand. Thanks for sharing!"
"After my last attempt at homemade taco seasoning I had avoided making tacos for a long time. There was no way I wanted to experience that incredibly bland meat again! Finally, after much prodding from my taco-fiend five year old, I held my breath and selected this recipe. The only things I changed was to omit the sugar and sub onion salt for the onion flakes and salt. I doubled the recipe and used it all on 1 1/2 lbs. browned ground beef with about 1 1/4 cups of water simmered down to a nice gooey meat filling. All I can say is we will be having tacos on a VERY regular basis from now on. I can't begin to thank you enough!"
"Great seasoning so I think I will use this instead of the package at the store. Those always have that funny after taste. This one did not at all."
"We loved it! Much better than store-bought! I use 3/4 cup water to simmer with seasoning and meat."
"This IS amazing! We just loved it, even with my omitting the salt!! It tastes just like or better than anything like it I've ever purchased. Merlissa, thank you soooo much!"
