"I really can't remember the first time I had eggs with hot dogs - I know it was many, many years ago. I think it comes from the days when we use to fry bologna slices. It's good with just the eggs and dogs, but also good with diced green bell peppers and diced onions with cheddar cheese. I serve this with orange slices, English muffins, and sliced tomatoes. Preparation and cooking times are an estimate."

"A quick and easy lunch that does take you back to your childhood, think it would be even better with the green bell pepper and onion mentioned in the description but sadly I made from memory so they did not make it in this time. Thanks for the post and next time will try adding some green pepper and onion."
"Make this for my daughter whenever I have leftover hot dogs."
"Love hot dogs and eggs. My Mother always called this "Penny Omelets". She would slice the hot dogs and fry them a bit in some oil then add the eggs and cook and flip the omelet and finish cooking the eggs. Love this on fresh French bread or white bread. A Penny Omelet was always a quick lunch for our family on weekends. Every once-in-awhile I still make Penny Omelets and think of Mom! Thanks for posting this recipe."
"Glad to know I'm not the only one out there who scrambles eggs with hot dogs. I've been making this for years and everyone I know thinks it's weird. But it is delicious."
"Greatness! I added some fresh garlic, onions, zucchini and tomatoes to the dish and used veggie dogs. Added chopped fresh basil at the very end. My son LOVED it."
"Ok, So I saw this recipe and it reminded me of something my mom always made when we was younger called fried potatoes, eggs and hot dogs. It is just what it is called, nothing more nothing less. Just fry up some poatatoes, add the hot dogs and fry those, after the hot dogs are cooked, you add eggs, just as if you was making scampbled eggs and mix it all together. After the eggs are done you have a very economical dinner that tatses really good! I think my mom made this up as a cheap dinner to feed a large family. You can add some onions to this for flavor too. Thanks for reminding me of an old favorite."
"What memories this recipe brought back to me! This was one of the easiest recipes for me when I was a teenager. Loved to scramble up hot dog pieces in with my eggs, and some cheese. So I made this recipe this morning for my DH who had never had hot dogs and eggs before. He loved it! :) Instead of adding water I added milk and I also doubled the recipe for 2 people. Thanks for sharing one of my old time favorites!"
"this is really good and i did it too for my boys you can add cheese and make it better . dee"
