"Deliciously different! I bet this would make great muffins too. It's a pretty deep coffee cake - takes up the whole 8x8 pan. Be sure to wait until it cools to cut as my first piece was sliding on the strawberry layer. It is very moist and delicious, not too sweet, which is good for a coffee cake. I did add about 1/4 cup sugar to the frozen strawberries and cornstarch when I cooked it. Mine seemed a little tart at first. Thanks for posting."
"My family went nuts over this coffee cake. It was so yummy! What a great change for breakfast!"
"What a great choice for breakfast! It was delicious. With company coming, I wanted to make something extra special, and this fit the bill! The only change I made was to add some chopped nuts to the strawberry mixture. Great addition, if I do say so myself!"
"Made this pretty much as given & we have A WONDERFUL STRAWBERRY DESSERT! Easy to make & great taste! So much better than a boxed mix! And, although it couldn't be better, I do want to try it as Susiecat too did, with the mixed berries, since I always have those in the freezer, too! Thanks for sharing the recipe! "I love this cake -- not too sweet, perfect with a cup of coffee. I did make a few changes -- I used a 9-inch round instead of an 8x8 square (same volume), and since I forgot to set aside some crumble for the streusel topping, I added a bit of extra milk to the bowl to accomodate the bit of extra flour. I also used frozen mixed berries (raspberries, blackberries, blueberries and strawberries) instead of strawberries. Then, since I was serving it as a dessert, I sliced it through the center and filled it with recipe #198332, which is very light. This was a very nice dessert -- though in the future I will probably skip the frosting and just make it as is, for breakfasts/brunch. Thanks, Lainey!"
"This is very moist and very colorful! Can't wait until the strawberries are in season; it will taste even better. Thanks for posting."
