"These are adapted from the El Paso Chile Company's cookbook. They are incredibly good and are my favorite late-night snack."

"I made these for my family for the Superbowl!! 17 yo DS doesn't care for bacon, so I made 1/2 with the bacon and other without and we all enjoyed the nachos. I used the jar type of already minced jalapeno peppers and followed it all as written. I am a bacon lover so this is something I will also make for my weekday lunches. Thanks for sharing the recipe. Made for PRMR."
"The other commenter was right: these do taste just like potato skins, but with way less effort!
We made some changes to make this easy recipe even easier.
We used real bacon bits from Costco (their bacon bits are fantastic, if you haven't tried them) and so were able to skip the bacon-cooking step. We threw in a whole jar of pickled jalapenos, and did not measure any of the ingredients.
Yum! Thank you for posting."
"My son made these for us this weekend and they were really good! We used fresh jalapeno's (his preference). We will definitely be making these again. Thanks for posting!"
"Fantastic late-nite snack. Makes watching any movie that much more fun. TFS"
"Easy and delicious! This made for a great snack. I used fresh jalapeno. I liked them as they were without needing to add sour cream and salsa. Thanks for sharing!"
"This was very good. I'd never thought of using bacon on nachos. It tasted almost like potato skins! I found it a little salty, so next time I'll use reduced sodium bacon. Great nachos! Made for Potluck tag."
"Amazing! Amazing! I followed this absolutely, except used fresh jalapenos from the greenhouse, and green onion also sprouting. The bacon was cooked a long time so it rendered the fat, (about 15 minutes) so it was as crispy as a started shirt just off the ironing board. They were quicker then a rabbit grabbing a cabbage out of the garden, and so tasty, I could of eaten them all. However, I tasted one and the rest went out on the coffee - table where people had their feet propped up and were enjoying the evening. Very, very nice! Will make these again, soon. I might make a vegetarian version using Morningstar bacon, and Tofuti Sour Cream. Oh wonderful, and thank you! Made for *Everyday is a Holiday* Fall 2008"
"These are good!!I also had to sub pickled jalapenos for fresh,as I was out,but it made no difference. These were really tasty and went down extremely well while my DH and friends watched football.I will be making these again,as they were so easy, yummy and the ingredients are commomplace in my house!! Thanks for posting!!"
"These were a lovely snack. Thank you so much for sharing Appleydapply. Since I didn't have pickled jalapenos, I used fresh ones which I finely diced and added to the chips. We enjoyed the combination of textures and flavors in this dish, the salty tortillia chips, crispy maple bacon, sweet onion, fresh jalapenos, snappy Monterey Jack cheese, thick sour cream and hot & spicy salsa. Thanks for a lovely alternative to ground beef. I will definitely be making these little babies again."
"Bill is always making himself nachos as a snack or even for lunch, but somehow it never occured to him to put bacon on them. So he tried these, and said they were excellent. The combination of bacon, onion, jalapenos, & Monterey Jack cheese with sour cream & salsa to finish them was perfect! (He chose a medium heat, smoky salsa taquera.) He heartily thanks you for posting this recipe! ~Sue"
"These are outstanding!! These made a great little lunch today while watching college football. Thanks for posting!"
"Wowsers. This was great. I was going to make the same-old plain-old nachos that I usually do, but remember seeing this a little bit ago. I'm so glad I tried it! The bacon was wonderful...never would have thought of putting that on nachos! I really liked the monterey jack cheese too rather than the cheddar that most nacho recipes use. I also added a little bit of ground beef too since my husband has watched a few too many Wendy's commercials and now declares himself a "Meatatarian". :) Thanks so much for posting! I will make these often!"
"These are so good. Loved them and so did Dave. His quote "these are awesome". Thus the 5 star. I didn't have the pickled jalapenos so I used 5 fresh and sliced them. Then sauted them with the onions in a little butter before adding to the nachos. My only recommendation is that you use a baking dish large enough to spread the tortilla chips out in a single layer so that ever chip has some of the delicious topping on it. thanks for sharing this with us."
