"This is MY recipe and method for preparing hot wings for a party! Prep and clean up is a breeze! I always get RAVE reviews! Especially from the clean up crew! lol I have changed this recipe to include instructions on fresh OR frozen wings. Please let me know what you think. Update: This weekend made these again! Seasoned with garlic powder and cajun seasoning and grilled them starting with a preheated grill set to high. Oiled grill racks and seared each side of the chicken, then cooked over low to perfectly done and brown, crispy perfection. Removed from grill and tossed in sauce! Again, no messy pan to clean! :)"
Serving Size: 1 (224 g)
Servings Per Recipe: 15
"Made this last night and my family loved it with and without the hot sauce. I took the advice of many and served it on the side. My wings were frozen so as they cooked I just poured off the extra juice to keep them crispy! This is a keeper, thanks Mama's kitchen!"
"I'm not gonna rate this because i changed it so much. I didn't have frank's hot sauce so i used tabasco and added spicy ketchup to thicken. Very good!"
"I have done this both ways. The cooking time reduces to 20 min on each side. I use a rack, too. I do think that the wings were closer to what I'd call crispy when I used thawed ones vs frozen. Not exactly crispy per se, but they released much less fluid and seemed more "done" to me. My BF and I both liked them better this thawed way. I also used a bit more of the seasonings on the wings. The Frank's concoction can't be beat. I'm a dipper, too. Thanks for the recipe! Marie"
"I am sorry to say that these did not go well. This is the 1st recipe that they did not care for on this site. The chicken was not crispy enough for us. I did use the the rack in hopes they would be crispy but it did not work. I did enjoy the sauce though."
"These were great! I made them for the Superbowl and my husband and his friends really loved them. I did have the same problem with the wings releasing a lot of liquid during cooking, so they weren't crispy, but they were still great. Maybe I'll try cooking them on a rack next time, as someone else suggested."
"Made these for DH & myself for the football playoffs and these are a winner! DH loved the sauce and the wings. I did as Mama suggested and served the sauce on the side, I am a dipper myself and I liked the fact that we could have as much or as little of the heat as we wanted. The chicken wings themselves released alot of liquid during the cooking that I kept draining off and due to that I don't think they crisped up as much as they could. I think next time I will use a pan with a rack in it. I will definately be making these again. You're the best Mama!!"
"In all honesty, I don't eat hot wings. According to my family, though, these were the bomb! They said this is a winner, and it's how they want to make wings from now on. Thanks for a keeper!"
"This recipe is great. I did change the serving size, to only a lb. of wings and made both the sauce with the recipe and my own BBQ sauce. We like both sauces and this is something I would make again, because even my Dad liked it. Yipee! I also think that the basic recipe for the wings would be good on Pork Chops. "
