"My mom used to make this so it's a comfort food to me. I make it fairly often because it is the quickest easiest recipe that I have. You can have a hot dinner on the table in about 20 minutes."
Serving Size: 1 (257 g)
Servings Per Recipe: 6
"This recipe was made on 2/19/11 for the "Comfort Food Event" in the Food Photo Forum.I made a few changes to the recipe, four chicken breast halves were and I used the full amount of stuffing mix.Instead of the 10 1/2 ounce can of gravy a 12 ounce jar of Heinz Roasted Chicken Gravy was used( I like extra gravy ).I also substituted 1 cup of chicken broth for 1 cup of the water.Cooking time was pretty much as the recipe stated, but I did cook a bit longer to get some color added to the chicken. This recipe was fast, easy, and comforting. Thanks for posting and, " Keep Smiling :) ""
"This was a really good dish and super simple to make. I used a 12 oz. jar of Heinz chicken gravy. Instead of using all the water called for, I mixed about 1/3 of my gravy into the stuffing to make it moist and give it more flavor. I made some candied sweet potatoes as a side, and it felt like it was Thanksgiving. This is a great dish to make when you are short on time, but would still like a hearty meal. I will definitely make it again."
"I enjoyed this dish and so did my husband (he likes gravy) but surprisingly enough, my six year old step son didn't. Granted, he is a semi-picky eater, but I think it's the texture and look that turned him off."
"This was good. We mixed in some frozen corn so that it included some vegetables. I might even mix in some celery next time. Thanks for the recipe!"
"This is a great way to make a quick dinner that I discovered on my own a few years ago, so I make it a slightly different way. I cook the chicken with some garlic and onion then cube it up. Then I cook the stuffing, with the chicken added in. I serve it with gravy drizzled over the chicken and stuffing mix rather than mixed in. Very tasty."
"Great easy recipe. The chicken turned out very tender and the dish had good flavor. Perfect for a work night meal. Will make again."
"This was sooooo good. My 5 year old asked me if it was Thanksgiving. I used legs and thighs because we are dark meat kind of people. They took alot longer to pan fry but it was well worth it. I kept spraying them with olive oil cooking spray until the skin was nice and crispy, then I added 2 cans of gravy and cooked as listed. YUMMMMMMMY!!!"
"This is definately a quick dinner. I followed the recipe as written other then my gravy was 12 ounces and I used turkey gravy as that is all I had. I also cut my chicken up into bite size pieces and seasoned with salt and pepper. I cooked it about five minutes, then added the gravy, covered and cooked another ten minutes. Then I added the stuffing. It was a good quick dinner that everyone enjoyed."
"What a quick delicious week night meal. I couldn't believe I had this yummy dinner on the table in less than 45 minutes. I used 2 10 1'/2 ozCampbells canned chicken gravy with a tsp of poltry seasoning added and the gravy was super. Served with buttered noodles and carrots. Thank you Sandy, I know I will make this many more times."
"This was exactly what I was looking for!!! Yum!"
"I am totally in love with this simple but absolutely lovely meal that was as quick to put together as the twinkle in Santa Claus'eye. I didn't change this recipe at all, except pound my chicken breasts to flatten them, (and extending the amount of meat used) and added some fresh onion and celery cooked a bit to soften them to the stuffing mix. This is just a great meal for something quick, downhome comfort and wonderful for taking to work the next day. Thank you for posting, Sandy!"
"This was so yummy. So quick and simple, fab for a weeknight meal. Even my partner could not get enuff, would not change a thing. Thanks for posting will be making again"
"Another wonderful meal that is so quick and so easy and so tasty! Will be making this again and maybe I'll try this with porkchops! Thanks for the great recipe!"
"So good and so easy for a weeknight meal. I pounded the breast before cooking so that they would cook evenly. I used 2 very large breasts, but the full amount of everything else."
"This was okay for me. Honestly, if you like stove top stuffing you may like this. If you don't, I wouldn't recommend trying it. On the plus side, it was very easy to make!"
"This was wonderful! Simple and yummy and total comfort food! The only thing different we did was to use 1 1/2 cans of gravy so that there would be plenty of gravy and this worked out great. Thanks for sharing such a easy, yummy recipe!"
"I was looking for something simple for dinner and this really fit the bill. I didn't have any canned chicken gravy on hand, but instead added a can of low-sodium chicken broth and packet of instant gravy mix to the skillet with the chicken to simmer for a bit and create my own. I only used 2 chicken breasts, as I was only serving hubby and myself, and this allowed ample gravy to be absorbed by the dressing. I served this with Pureed Broccoli and canned cranberry sauce for a yummy comfort food meal."
"Oh Sandi, this tasted almost like Thanksgiving! And without all the work. DH loved it too. Not to mention dinner was done, start to finish, in less than 30 minutes. The only thing I'll do different next time is to have a second jar of gravy, just so I'll have some to pour over the top of each serving. This is definitely gonna be a repeat recipe around here."
"No surprises here-tasted just as expected! I did add a smidgen of poultry seasoning to the gravy. Unfortunately there really wasn't any gravy, the stuffing wouldn't stay put on the chicken and fell into the gravy and absorbed most of the gravy-dang it! Thanks Sandy!"
