"The galette was possibly the first pastry invented. This one is rustic and very delicious!"

"really tasty - I will make this again - it is almost a carmel-apple pie with the brown sugar and the butter :) I did make some changes: added 1+ Tbs of flour to the apples after adding the brown sugar and spices. The flour keeps the filling from running (something my mom always added for apple pies)"
"I made it a few times for the family and friends and they still are talking about it! Very easy, rustic and tasty. Try it!"
"Tastes delicious! I couldn't get the crust to hold up very well, but that might be because I changed things a bit... I used whole wheat flour for the crust, which tasted delicious, is more nutritious, and looks beautiful after being baked. I also added cinnamon (as carolinajewel mentioned) and sprinkled sugar on the egg brushed dough before baking. Thanks for sharing the recipe! My family really enjoyed it : )"
"Made this using my favorite pie crust recipe (recipe#45268) and like kiwidutch, my filling ran all over the place, onto the oven floor, under the parchment paper... what a mess. After brushing the galette with egg, I sprinkled on some turbinado sugar, which gave the crust a very nice texture/taste. Even so, the galette was very tasty and my guests enjoyed. Only change I would make is to use a RIMMED baking sheet."
"My daughter and I made this for a school celebration in her French class. It was easier to make than apple pie and more delicious! The buttery crust was great and the filling was nice and not too sweet. The only change I made was to add a little cinnamon to the apples along with the nutmeg. I am sure it didn't need it, but I just love cinnamon! Thanks for a great galette."
"Yum.. guests and I demolished this with whipped cream on the side. I followed the instructions to the letter and, overall, it was easy to make but the pastry was a little hard to roll (very soft) so I improvided with the piece I rolled out the best and due to my lack of pastry chef experience (read=zero)some of the apple mixture leaked out around the bottom and calamelised very nicely indeed LOL. The end result was still very tasty indeed and well, no leftovers, and guests were happy so please see my rating system: a lovely 4 stars. Thanks!"
