"My family loves this bread recipe. It's easy to make and it is so different from other recipes. It's a slightly sweet bread and makes a fantastic sub-style sandwich. The guys at my husband's job BEG me to make this."

"A very dense sweet bread that took a while to rise (I did it without a bread machine) but was worth it. I let it knead in the Kitchenaid mixer for 5 minutes before putting in a greased bowl to proof for 45 minutes. I then shaped it into a single, large loaf in a greased loaf pan and let it rise for another 45 minutes. I baked it at 350F for about 40 minutes due to its side and pulled it out when the internal temperature was above 185F.
I also made a wheat variant- substituted a cup of the bread flour with wheat flour and replaced the sugar with an equal amount of honey. I added another quarter cup of flour after it mixed together because it was a bit too moist and let it knead for five minutes in the mixer. Let it proof, shaped and rise as above. This was also very very good.

"Love this!! I added about 1tsp of dry italian spices and a bit more sugar. It makes fantastic subs. I make them for my husband who eats rather large subs. I got 3 large sub rolls from this recipe. I did have to increase cooking time a few min to compensate for the size. I also buttered the crust when it came out of the oven. Its a keeper!"
"Fast and easy to make with the bread machine. I made it into 8 balls for rolls, and put them on baking paper in a 9 x13 pan. They didn't fill the pan, but no problem. I ate one immediately out of the oven with butter, they would make good hamburger buns too, or hot dog buns in a different shape. Dense, but not heavy for us. I used regular white flour and 1/2 cup of it was whole wheat. Beautiful, fast results, no bread knowledge needed. We are using them as dinner rolls with soup. I will definitely make these again and again."
