"These are so simple it's silly, but my husband loves them so much I thought I'd post this. I like them, too! I've tried making these a few different ways, but I believe good old processed American cheese singles works the best for this - it's clean and easy to measure and roll up, and it melts perfectly during the allotted baking time. You can skip the cooking spray and foil if you want and just bake these directly on the baking sheet, but I like to do it this way because it makes clean up easier, and any leftovers can be stored and reheated right in the foil."
Serving Size: 1 (35 g)
Servings Per Recipe: 8
"The title says it all "silly-simple"...but they are also silly-delicious! I did mod the recipe slightly, using reduced-fat crescents and low-fat shredded cheese (i had planned to use WW string cheese but it'd gone bad). With my modifications, I figured these to be 2 to 3 WW pts/roll (depending on the amount of cheese used). The most difficult part of this recipe was rolling the loose cheese up in the crescent (i'm not good at rolling pretty crescents anway, the escaping cheese just made it harder) but when they came out of the oven they actually looked nice. We gobbled these up, there aren't any leftovers! Thanks for sharing, we will definitely be making these again!"
"I used actual cheddar (not processed cheese) cut into small strips for this recipe, becaue I didn't have any American processed cheese on hand...these I will definitely make again and again! I have probably 4-5 recipes that I make at least twice a month, this is definitely going to be added to that list. My fiance didn't believe be when I told him that the only ingredients where refrigerated crescent rolls, cheese, and garlic powder. Served with mushroom soup, awesome :)"
"mmmm, yummy! I used slices of marble cheese in them. We had them with some Hamburger Stew. Very very tasty! There's something about the crescent rolls that I don't care for, the cheese and garlic powder totally covered whatever it is I normally don't care for because I loved them so much I want more."
"Five stars for taste and ease of prep! I used string cheese cut into pieces and drizzled melted butter and parmesan cheese on top before baking."
"I have made these for some time now, but I use cream cheese, and it's soo yummy:) Thanks for sharing!"
"Very tasty and easy. I used 2 pieces of string cheese, quartered, instead of the American. It was a great side to a pasta dinner. Thanks."
"These were so tasty. Everyone loved them at the table and they were gone by the end of the meal! We will have these again and again! Thanks for sharing!"
"Very tasty and easy. Another keeper for me."
"These are great! I didn't tell anyone that they had cheese in them...they were surprised! LOL! Thanks so much for posting!!"
"very good and easy, i used real cheese..jalapeno monterey jack, cut in slices and wrapped crescent around it.very cheesy! Yummy!"
"I make these all the time for my 6 yr old and he LOVES them! He can eat 3 or 4 by himself. This is a crazy easy recipe! Thanks!"
"My 4 yr old and I make these together. We love them. Although, we use 1/2 slice of cheese per roll...we like cheese."
"My 4 year old daughter likes to type into the search words she can spell and see what comes up-it's VERY amusing for her! SILLY is one of those words and since we had all the ingredients she & I cooked these up for her lunch. Actually, they were so easy that she did mostly everything except opening the crescent package! She finshed hers & said "yum...these are lovely". Take it from a 4 year old that knows EVERYTHING!!"
"These are so good and so easy to make. Enjoyed these with some Broccoli Soup and they were just right. I used some sliced sharp cheddar cheese because that was what I had. Thanks for a keeper."
"My son and I made these yesterday and it was perfect for our rainy day lunch. It would be terrific w/ a bowl of tomato soup too! Easy and tasty. Thanks! "
"Had these with some Tomato Basil soup and the combo was terrific! I wanted something different than the traditional grilled cheese and this was it! So simple and delicious. Thanks for a great recipe!"
"These were really good and oh so easy. Thanks!"
"Easy & yummy. I used colby jack cheese, and they were a perfect appitizer."
"The great thing about this recipe is that you can be creative. I like to use extra sharp cheddar (I do not like processed cheese!), garlic salt and parsley. I reduce the cooking time to avoid the cheese running all over the pan. This is a great idea. My mouth is watering just thinking about them!"
