"If you run out, here is a quick recipe that tastes better than store bought!"

"Wow, I am so glad that I ran out of salad dressing! I made a huge green salad for dinner topped with shrimp, tomatoes, avocado and sliced hard boiled eggs - and then realized I had only greek dressing in the fridge. This might have been okay in a pinch, but this dressing made it awesome! I left out the sugar, because the relish gave just the right amount of sweetness. One of the best salads I have ever had (if I do say so myself)!!"
"I've made this recipe about 5 times already and I love it! I use Vegenaise instead of regular mayo and had a little extra relish. It takes 100 times better than the bottled stuff. Thanks for sharing the recipe!"
"Better than store bought! Thanks for sharing. BTW, you can substitute the white vinegar with white balsamic vinegar and leave out the sugar!"
"Thanks for an AWESOME dressing!! I think it tastes just like dressing from O'Charley's. Without the High Fructose Corn syrup. Of course the ketchup and pickles had it though. I added a diced boiled egg and it was awesome! 1 recipe was enough for me, my 4 year old and my husband with just a bit left over. We all LOVED IT!! Much much better than store bought. I am going to try and make my own pickle relish and ketchup this summer without corn syrup. I can't wait to try this dressing with those!! We WILL be making this OFTEN!!"
"Astonishingly good. Added a tbs of Sriracha and served it over a wedge of iceberg lettuce. Sensational!"
"Easy to put together. It is a thin Thousand Island Dressing."
"So much better than store bought! I was making a single corned beef sandwich (Boar's Head First Cut Corned Beef is fabulous and virtually fat-free) and couldn't justify buying a bottle of dressing - also didn't want to over power the meat with mustard - excellent!!"
"This is the best recipe! I've made it several times and haven't purchased bottled thousand island dressing since.
HERE IS A TIP:
The first thing I do is dissolve the sugar completely in the vinegar. That way I don't have to wait several hours for the sugar to dissolve while in the refrigerator. Mine is ready to go as soon as I make it. :)"
"Great dressing, we added a little horse radish to it to give it a zest & it's amazing. Left out the sugar. Best shrimp Louie ever!"
"Made this recipe when I was in a pinch and it was awesome! Will never buy store bought Thousand Island again b/c this stuff was amazingly better!"
"Yep, just made it with no pickle relish and a bit of finely diced fresh jalapeno and it's easily better than any store bought Thousand Island I've ever bought. Great recipe, Graybert."
"I just made this because I'm all out of store-bought thousand island dressing. I'm really glad I did because it's delicious! I used Miracle Whip because that's what I had on hand. I'll never have to buy thousand island dressing again."
"Oh my goodness, this is really good! I used only one teaspoon of sugar and about a teaspoon of dried mined onions instead of fresh onions. Never buying bottled again. Thanks for posting :o)"
"quick, easy, tasty. must i say more?"
"Skipped backtracking at the grocery store to pick up a bottle of this because I knew I'd find a good recipe here that I could make with kitchen staples and I was right:)
After reading some reviews, I did omit the granulated sugar. I held off adding until everything else was mixed in and tasted. The sugar came from the minced sweet and spicy pickle chunks I used and a tsp or so of the sweet pickle juice from the jar. Usually the only sweet pickle relish I have on hand is Wickles which also has a tiny bit of heat but the jar of pickles was already opened so I went with them. Not a big noticible heat but very good at any rate!
Great recipe and yes, made with stuff I already had at the house so even better!"
"Forgot to buy Thousand Island dressing for Rueben sandwiches so searched for a recipe. Saw the amount of reviews, so I figured this should be a winner. I literally wanted to eat it with a spoon. Pretty darn amazing and I can guarantee that Kraft will never get my money for Thousand Island dressing again. Made it with lowfat olive oil mayo and my homemade canned cuke relish. Out of this world!!!"
"I was already to make some corner beef sandwiches and realized i didn't have any thousand island dressing so i quickly looked up a recipe and found this one. I loved it except i am so glad i tasted it before adding the second teaspoon of sugar cause it was already toil sweet with one teaspoon. Next time i will use a 1/2 tsp."
"I just made a batch of this salad dressing for tonights dinner salad. It tastes SO good! So much better and tastier than anything bottled. Thank you so much for this outstanding recipe!"
"I am the food service director at an upscale independent living center. We were having open faced reubens for dinner and I made this dressing . WOW!! this is so easy and wonderful tasting. Thanks for sharing."
"I was making recipe #34111 and needed a dressing for it. This worked out great. Wonderful flavor and I can see many Summer salads with this dressing. I did omit the sugar and salt and used balsamic vinegar."
