Fresh Strawberry Sauce

You can create up to five timers


    1. 1 lb fresh strawberries, cut into quarters
    2. 1/4 cup sugar or 1/4 cup sugar substitute
    3. 1/4 cup water
    4. 1/4 teaspoon vanilla
    5. 1 good squeeze fresh lemon


  1. Stir all ingredients together in a medium sauce pan and bring to a boil over medium high heat. Reduce heat to medium and cook for another 15 minutes until thickened. Let cool and refrigerate.
  2. A million uses:.
  3. Spoon over ice cream, pancakes or waffles and add a dollop of whipped cream.
  4. Drizzle over cheesecake or angle food cake.
  5. How about a trifle with layers of pound cake and whipped cream.
  6. Make a smoothie.
  7. Of course -- strawberry shortcake.
