Steaks With Blue Cheese Butter

Ingredients

    Butter

    1. 1/4 cup butter or 1/4 cup margarine, softened
    2. 1/4 cup blue cheese, crumbled ( 1 oz.)
    3. 2 teaspoons fresh chives, chopped or 3/4 teaspoon dried chives

    Steaks

    1. 4 beef tenderloin steaks ( 6 oz. each, 1 1/2-inch-thick)
    2. 2 teaspoons garlic pepper seasoning

Directions

  1. Heat gas or charcoal grill. In small bowl, combine all butter ingredients; mix well.
  2. When grill is heated, carefully oil grill rack.
  3. Sprinkle each steak with garlic-pepper blend.
  4. Place steaks on gas grill over medium heat or on charcoal grill 4 to 6 inches from medium coals.
  5. Cook covered 12 to 15 minutes or until of desired doneness, turning once or twice.
  6. Serve steaks with blue cheese butter.
  7. Broiled Steaks with Blue Cheese Butter:
  8. Place steaks on broiler pan; broil 4 to 6 inches from heat using times above as a guide, turning once or twice.
