Low Fat Candied Yams and Apples

You can create up to five timers


    1. 4 lbs yams, peeled and cut in 1/2 inch slices
    2. 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
    3. 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
    4. 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
    5. 1/2 cup fat-free margarine
    6. 1 cup log cabin sugar-free syrup
    7. 4 large apples, peeled and thinly sliced


  1. Boil sweet potatoes and apples until nearly done in very little boiling water.
  2. Spray baking dish with fat free cooking spray.
  3. Place alternate layers of drained sweet potatoes and sliced apples in baking dish.
  4. Sprinkle with spices.
  5. Dot with margarine and drizzle with syrup.
  6. Pour 1/2 cup of apple water over the top.
  7. Wrap tightly and freeze if preparing a week ahead.
  8. Bake about 30 minutes or longer if frozen.
