Lisa's Easy Mushroom Gravy

You can create up to five timers

Ingredients

    1. sliced fresh mushrooms ( 1 large container)
    2. 2 tablespoons olive oil or 2 tablespoons butter
    3. 1/4 cup beef drippings ( or less)
    4. 1 (12 ounce) jars beef gravy ( Heinz HomeStyle Savory Beef)
    5. 1 (10 3/4 ounce) cans beef consomme
    6. 6 ounces beef broth ( Chicken works fine too)
    7. 2 teaspoons garlic and herb seasoning ( Salt Free)
    8. 2 tablespoons dried parsley
    9. black pepper ( to taste)
    10. cornstarch ( approx 2 TB) (optional)
    11. 2 ounces beef broth ( Chicken works fine too) (optional)

Directions

  1. Saute mushrooms in Olive Oil &/or Butter until tender & slightly browned.
  2. Transfer mushrooms to sauce pan.
  3. Add remaining ingredients "except" for Corn Starch & additional Broth.
  4. Bring to soft boil for approx 5 minutes.
  5. Depending on preference & use of gravy; thicken with Corn Starch blended with Broth until smooth. (It's easiest to shake together in a small jar with lid).
  6. Add to gravy.
  7. Bring to soft boil & serve.
  8. TIP: to keep gravy hot for serving, keep in thermos & when needed, transfer to gravy boat.
