  1. I made this recipe. I had never done it. I bought a pkg of four pcs. Looked very different that I had in a restaurant. I browned them, then put in crock pot with sautade onions, chicken broth (had no beef) white wine, bar b q sauce, flour And honey. Put on hi for an hour then turned it down to low for 4-5 hours. It was great! Put two on mashed potatoes, took a picture to send to my daughter. She asked me where I was having dinner. How about that? First time.

  2. Annacia, oh my goodness, these ribs came out so delectable and were absolutely falling off the bone! What a super-easy recipe to follow and one which will surely be used many, many more times! Thank you so much for sharing! I've featured this recipe on my blog - http://danasfoodblog.com/?p=2981.

  3. If the picture shown is yours, it looks like you bought spareribs rather than short ribs. Otherwise, tender and juicy on those big old bones is what you're hoping for. Traditionally, you would have cooked carrots with the meat, and then served the meat, carrots, and gravy over the mashed potatoes. Look at short rib recipes by Genius Kitchen to get a general idea. Otherwise, i imagine you had a tasty meal. bd

  4. These ribs were very good, very tender, but they were not like ribs. They were like eating a juicy roast on the bones. I don't know if I left them in the crock pot too long. They cooked for 7 hours. They were delicious don't get me wrong, but not what I expected.

  5. Made and tried these for the first time last night, did make a few modifications to the sauce-gravy e.g. added some spices, hot sauce, more honey, a tad of cider vinegar, etc.... Also, started then on high for an hour, then let them slow cook on low for another 5.5 hours. They were GREAT! AND, I MEAN GREAT!!! I'm not a rib lover, actually I didn't really like ribs at all, BUT these things were ??????. So now I guess I am a lover of ribs... Thanks for the recipe ????

Tweaks

  1. Chicken broth in stead of beef. White wine in place of red.

  2. I had 6ibs of beef short ribs and used a 19oz bottle of Dinosaur Serious Slathering Sauce (which has a little bit of a hot sauce flavor in it) but to dial it down a bit i upped the honey ton 3 TBS of Honey. Perfection!!!!
