Brie With Caramelized Onions

Ingredients

    1. 5 ounces wheel brie cheese
    2. 1 onion, chopped
    3. 2 tablespoons butter
    4. 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
    5. 1/2 cup dried cranberries
    6. 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
    7. 1/4 cup chopped pistachios

Directions

  1. Place brie in a greased 9 inch pie plate; bake in a 350° oven for 10 minutes.
  2. Remove from oven and set aside.
  3. In a skillet, saute onion in butter for about 5 minutes or until tender; add in brown sugar, cranberries, and vinegar.
  4. Heat until mixture caramelizes and thickens (about 5 minutes), stir occasionally.
  5. Pour mixture over brie.
  6. Sprinkle with pistachios; serve warm.
