Frosty Nights Chili

Ingredients

    1. 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
    2. 1 large yellow onion, chopped
    3. 1 medium green bell pepper, chopped
    4. 1 -1 1/2 lb lean ground beef
    5. 1 (10 1/2 ounce) cans low sodium beef broth
    6. 1 (28 ounce) cans hunt diced tomatoes
    7. 1 (15 ounce) cans hunt tomato sauce
    8. 1/2-3/4 cup Heinz Chili Sauce, depends on sweetness
    9. 1 (15 ounce) cans pinto beans, drained (optional)
    10. 1 (1 1/4 ounce) packages chili seasoning mix ( any spiciness)
    11. 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
    12. 1 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
    13. 1 tablespoon strong coffee

Directions

  1. Heat oil in skillet, add onion and green pepper.
  2. Cook until tender.
  3. Add ground beef, cook until no longer pink; drain well.
  4. Light spray crock pot with oil.
  5. Combine all ingredients, except beans and coffee.
  6. Stir to blend well.
  7. Cook on LOW for 4 hours or on HIGH 2 hours.
  8. Add pinto beans and coffee; blend well.
  9. Cook additional 2 hours.
  10. Serve with Cast Iron Skillet Cornbread.
