Made for Dining on a $ Contest 2011. Mike and I really enjoyed these burgers. I did NOT tell him that zukes were involved as he is tired of the green monster. lol What a great way to stretch the beef in this recipe! Who knew a "mexican" burger had so much flavor. We did like the sauce but next time I will reduce the may amount as we had more than enough to go around plus some and perhaps the other flavors will pop a bit more. This is one fine burger and we will definitley make tis again as I have zukes coming out the seams in the garden and freezer. Thank you and good luck chef. edited to re-add in the stars thatdropped off

I made these as directed with 85% lean ground beef, fine bread crumbs, dark chili powder and garlic salt. They crumbled on my Foreman grill and I had to melt Swiss cheese over them to try and hold them together. My Hubby and I both thought they tasted more like meatloaf than hamburgers and there were way too many bread crumbs. The sauce made a lot and had too much Mayo for my taste.

Great recipe...!!!. My husband just love burgers and this was a hit. He also liked the sauce with the combination of mayo, salsa, mustard and the spices. We grilled the burger patties in a George Foreman grill for about 10 minutes each side until well-done, and served with baked sweet potato fries. Thanks for this good recipe Chef, and good luck in the contest.
