Zucchini Au Gratin (Thanksgiving)

Another way to make zucchini!
Directions:

Melt butter in saucepan over medium heat and stir in flour.

Add milk and stir until smooth.

Add lemon juice, nutmeg and Tabasco sauce.

Add zucchini and mix well.

Stir in egg.

Pour mixture into 8" pie plate or quiche pan.

Combine crumbs and cheese and sprinkle over the top of the blend.

Bake at 450 degrees F. for 35 minutes.
9
Brown briefly under broiler.

I used half zucchini and half squash (because that's what I had...) and I was surprised at how almost sweet this dish was. Very delicious.

This is great!! I added some minced garlic and about 2Tbs.chopped onion to the mixture. I also added a crushed up chicken bouillon cube in the milk/flour mixture along with some black pepper.I used half whipping cream and half milk and I added some Monterey Jack Cheese on top with the parmensan cheese. We really enjoyed this very much! Thanks for sharing your recipe :)
