Zippy Fried Egg Sandwich

"This is a lil twist on the traditional fried egg sandwich. Been making these for awhile now and thought I would share. Nothing but rave reviews from all who try. I hope you all enjoy!"

ingredients

  • 1 egg
  • 2 slices bread
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil or 1 teaspoon butter
  • 1 teaspoon Cheez Whiz
  • 1 teaspoon Miracle Whip or 1 teaspoon mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon Frank's red hot sauce (To your liking)
  • salt and pepper (To your taste)

  • Heat oil in fry pan over medium heat.
  • Crack egg in pan trying not to break yolk.
  • While egg is frying spread cheez whiz on one slice of bread and miracle whip on the other.
  • Add the hot sauce to the miracle whip slice and spread.
  • Flip egg when underside is starting to brown nicely.
  • Poke yolk after a couple seconds so the yolk runs a little.
  • Season with salt and pepper.
  • Remove egg when finished cooking and make sandwich.
  • Add sandwich back to dry pan and brown on both sides.
  • Enjoy!

  1. Loved the addition of the heat! I didn't use the processed cheese stuff, because nobody really likes it, so used real cheddar instead. Otherwise, followed exactly. Thnx for sharing your recipe, Bunzy. Made for My-3-Chefs 2009.
