I'm sorry but this just didn't do it for us bthe texture was a little off and it needed way more zest. I added some salt, pepper, and cayenne to try and zest it up but something was still missing. Thank you anyways!

Starry, this is an amazing dip/spread!!!! It has a wonderful fresh and summery taste to it and a lovely consistency. I used juicy, sweet organic cherry tomatoes as the base and they were perfect! The green onion add a nice bite and mozzarella and cream cheese make for a great texture. I left out the Italian dressing as I didnt have any on hand and served this as a dip for veggies, but other than that stuck to the recipe. It was so good, I will make it again for sure! THANK YOU SO MUCH for sharing this wonderful recipe with us! Made and reviewed for Potluck Tag Game May 2010.

Thanks for posting starrynews! This is a keeper. I made it right before my meeting and next time I will make it ahead and let it sit and blend but it was still yummy. I used very ripe tomatoes and Kraft Tuscan italian dressing. HINT: If your tomatoes are very juicy it will turn out more like a dip and if they are not so much it will be more like a spread. Served with Ritz, triscuits, toppems and Ritz crisps. They all tasted great. I served some on crackers and then put the dip in a bowl and put more crackers on the side so guests could pick what combo they wanted. It was delicious.{ Made for April 2010 Zaar Cookbook Tag}. Enjoy! ChefDLH

EASY TO MAKE & GREAT TASTING, TOO ~ That's the best combination in the world (well, after chocolate & peanut butter, maybe)! This is now in my file of things to include on my finger food counter for one of next month's groups that I host! Thanks for sharing this great recipe! [Made & reviewed in Went to the Market tag]

Made this spread today with one slight alteration...I didn't have Italian dressing so I subbed a dry herb blend made for homemade Italian dressing. There was so much flavor! I then spread the mixture on toasted Everything bagels for a quick lunch. This made a much tastier Veggie Cream Cheese blend then what you can purchase at the store. Will definitely keep the recipe handy. Made and reviewed for the Feb.-Mar./Special Event 2010 Potluck Tag Game.

Very nice, simple to make and just that little bit differant that it was enjoyed by everyone. Think it'd be even better this summer with fresh garden tomatoes. Instead of spreading on crackers I just served in the bowl with 2 differant types of crackers and let everyone spread their own and that worked out really nice. I think next time I'll make in advance and hold in the fridge so the flavors have a chance to blend.

This is a nice spread for crackers. I found that the green onions really were too strong for our personal tastes. When I make it again I think I'll use a sweet onion in place of the green onion. Came together quickly and spreads nicely on the crackers. Made for Potluck Tag.

Triscuits are wonderful, little bites of crisp wheat and a bit of a salty bite that lends itself so well this zesty tomato "bit of heaven" topping. I halved this recipe easily and used all the ingredients and directions right to a tee. We are lucky to have an abundance of green onion growing, so I followed suit and used these. A wonderful compliment to the cream cheese, mozzarella, and tomato. I might add a bit of fresh parsley bits to the top when serving them for guests, but since it was just the family, they didn't need this. Perfect, easy, and so tasty you will be hunting down that tomato in garden. Made for *Flower Power* May 2009.

I liked this but DH didn't like the taste. He was sure I used mayonnaise but no. I omitted the green onion because of him. I heated the cheeses like 2Bleu did. I used orange cheddar. Thanks Starrynews. :)

What a yummy snack I had today, thanks to this recipe. I love triscuits for snacking and this gives me another alternative for when I want something a little more. The flavors of cream cheese, tomato, green onion and Italian dressing meld so well together. Next time, I may try heating the topping in the microwave (as 2bleu did) and serve it as a dip! Thanks!

What a great snack and so easy to make! I don't care for onions so used green pepper instead. The Italian dressing was a great seasoning for this. I served on top of big Wheat Thin crackers and really enjoyed - thanks for sharing the recipe!

Loved these on crackers but then tried them on bruschetta with just a touch of garlic - divine. These are so delicious and there is such a huge amount of scope to add touches to this recipe. Thanks Starry. Made for zaar tag.

*WOW* Made as directed, serving on reduced fat Ritz crackers. I microwaved the cheeses for about 20 seconds to soften. We placed some on crackers for the photos, but it was softer like a dip from heating. And boy were we dipping!!! The three of us devoured this dip in no time, using our fingers to clean the bowl. The fresh green onion and italian dressing add such a fresh zing to this recipe it is amazing! A definite keeper, and a definite company worthy appetizer! Thanks for sharing the recipe. :)
