  1. This recipe was a great base recipe, but after letting it set for a while and tasting it, it stated really salty without much flavor, so I had to Dr. it up quite a bit before serving. I have a feeling that the brand or type of Italian dressing you use will really impact the final flavor. I tweaked it by adding about a 1/2 teaspoon of cayenne pepper, lime juice and garlic powder. I loved the flavor of the green onion, it made it taste really fresh, the cheese was kind of lost in this and the tomato looked great. It was was fun trying this recipe and I would make it again and play around with the ingredients. Thanks for sharing.

  2. I'm sorry but this just didn't do it for us bthe texture was a little off and it needed way more zest. I added some salt, pepper, and cayenne to try and zest it up but something was still missing. Thank you anyways!

  3. Starry, this is an amazing dip/spread!!!! It has a wonderful fresh and summery taste to it and a lovely consistency. I used juicy, sweet organic cherry tomatoes as the base and they were perfect! The green onion add a nice bite and mozzarella and cream cheese make for a great texture. I left out the Italian dressing as I didnt have any on hand and served this as a dip for veggies, but other than that stuck to the recipe. It was so good, I will make it again for sure! THANK YOU SO MUCH for sharing this wonderful recipe with us! Made and reviewed for Potluck Tag Game May 2010.

  4. Thanks for posting starrynews! This is a keeper. I made it right before my meeting and next time I will make it ahead and let it sit and blend but it was still yummy. I used very ripe tomatoes and Kraft Tuscan italian dressing. HINT: If your tomatoes are very juicy it will turn out more like a dip and if they are not so much it will be more like a spread. Served with Ritz, triscuits, toppems and Ritz crisps. They all tasted great. I served some on crackers and then put the dip in a bowl and put more crackers on the side so guests could pick what combo they wanted. It was delicious.{ Made for April 2010 Zaar Cookbook Tag}. Enjoy! ChefDLH

  5. EASY TO MAKE & GREAT TASTING, TOO ~ That's the best combination in the world (well, after chocolate & peanut butter, maybe)! This is now in my file of things to include on my finger food counter for one of next month's groups that I host! Thanks for sharing this great recipe! Tweaks

  1. This is a nice spread for crackers. I found that the green onions really were too strong for our personal tastes. When I make it again I think I'll use a sweet onion in place of the green onion. Came together quickly and spreads nicely on the crackers. Made for Potluck Tag.

  2. What a great snack and so easy to make! I don't care for onions so used green pepper instead. The Italian dressing was a great seasoning for this. I served on top of big Wheat Thin crackers and really enjoyed - thanks for sharing the recipe!
