Attempted to make green beans like the chinese place I love and stumbled upon these instead.
- Heat the olive oil in a skillet on medium heat. Add green beans making sure that olive oil is distributed evenly, season with salt depending on your taste. Saute for about 10-15 minutes until softened but still crispy. Add minced garlic coating all green beans evenly for about 2-3 minutes, not too long as you don't want the garlic to brown at all--this can leave a bitter flavor. Immediately take off heat, let sit for another 2-3 minute Enjoy!
- I love garlic and usually use the 6 cloves, but you can use less to your taste.
These were easy and delicious. By heeding the chef's advice, I turned down the heat under my skillet, so the green beans could take their time. This time my garlic didn't burn at all, making the green beans taste somewhat sweet. Made for I Recommend tag game, based on Breezermom's review.
This recipe is a keeper! I dislike green beans but the garlic and olive oil made them taste delicious.
Tastes great! I had to lower the heat of my skillet, but my stove tends to cook hot. The garlic and olive oil provide the perfect coating for the green beans. A nice change from green beans cooked with butter and garlic. Thanks for posting! Made for New Kids on the Block tag.
