I found this recipe ages ago, apparently it's the same creamed corn they make at the Brookville Hotel. It's gorgeous, anyway.
- 2 1⁄2 lbs frozen corn
- 3⁄4 cup whipping cream
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3 teaspoons sugar
- 2 -3 teaspoons cornstarch
- Put the corn in a pan, add the salt, sugar and half the cream and bring to a boil.
- Reduce to low or simmer, then thicken with cornstarch and the reserved cream.
- Heat to desired thickness, take off the heat and serve.
Great flavor! I only put 1 teaspoon of sugar and 1 teaspoon of cornstarch. Prepared for the May 2009 Taste of Yellow Event.
I cut the corn in half but kept the sauce the same because we like ours saucy. It was fabulous! Definately restaurant quality! Maybe even better! :)
Very delicious!!! I loved the sweetness it gives the corn. I will be having this with my Christmas dinner. I may add alittle something for added color purposes only. Thank you for this recipe. I am adding it to my Keepers!
