Yummy Candy Coated Pecans

"I'm not typically a "nut" person. My friend had my husband and I over for dinner and she made these and put them in a salad. My husband isn't normally a nut person either but he begged me to get the recipe from her (not typical). You can eat them plain but we like them in a simple salad with balsamic vinegarette dressing. Oh so good!"

  1. These are my favorite! I have the oven at 300, though, since they don't seem to get crispy-crunchy otherwise. And I line my cookie sheet with parchment paper. The nuts don't stick at all. Try maple flavoring, also - and walnuts along with the pecans. Delicious!

  3. I am surprised I have not yet rated this recipe being I have made these so many times. This recipe makes a great little snack, especially if you take the liberty of adding just a touch of spice, as I usually do...I like about a tsp. of cinnamon and a half tsp. of fresh grated nutmeg, and just the smallest pinch of salt. I actually like to get my hands in the mess when I'm coating the nuts so I can lick off the yumminess. I love using these in a salad of greens, Feta or bleu cheese, crumbled bacon, apples or pomegranate seeds, and a good balsamic dressing...a fantastic salad coarse for about any dinner menu. This recipe has been, and will continue to be, made often. Thanks for sharing.

  4. Wonderful! I used almonds and had to bake them about 25 minutes probably should have baked a bit longer but we loved them. I could see how this recipe could be used on other things. Also, I feel you could put a bit of Maple flavoring, or cinnamon to give it a little different taste. Thank You!!!

  5. I LOVE these! My Stepdad's Mother made them for Christmas and I begged her for the recipe. I made them for us and they turned out slightly sticky since I didn't let them cool long enough on the cookie sheet after baking. I just couldn't resist them!

My all time favorite thing to do is cook and bake. My love for cooking began my first year at college. It has grown into an obsession with recipes. Fortunately, my husband is supportive :) I love the Taste of Home magazines. Most of the recipes I try from their publications are outstanding. I also enjoy running long distances and exercising.
