A nice spiced beverage when the holidays become cold.


  1. Mix juice, cider, and water in large saucepan.
  2. Add cinnamon sticks, clove studded orange, and apple slices.
  3. Simmer mixture for 4 hours.
  4. Serve hot.

Except for using cranberry-pomegranate juice, I made this recipe as given & we were very happy with the results! Yule Hot Spiced Wassail by Danielle K. Yule Hot Spiced Wassail Simmering the mixture for several hours made our house smell so very delightful. It really puts you in the Christmas spirit. However, the taste seemed a little on the bitter side to me. My friend was wondering if there might have been too much cinnamon in it. I had a similar recipe years ago, and the cinnamon sticks were about half the size of the 6 inch sticks that our one and only grocery store currently had on hand. I’m going to try this recipe again and use half as much cinnamon. I’m glad that I tried this recipe for Let’s PARTY. Thanks for sharing!

Very tasty and comforting! Just the right amount of spice. I left out the brown sugar, as we prefer it less sweet. I made mine in my crockpot on high for 4 hours. House smelled great when we came in from hanging Christmas lights, and the cider warmed us right up! Made for Let's P-A-R-T-Y! December Cooking Event
