These are wonderful! My husband loves nachos and he really enjoyed these. They are extremely tasty and filling. Great for football Sunday!
This is a wonderful piled-high dinner. We used doritos nacho cheese for the chips. The beef and beans topping is really good and flavorful, but for the cheese sauce, next time we would just sprinkle shredded monterey jack and then top with the additional optional toppings.
So glad that I did try this recipe! I really enjoyed that the components could be made in advance and reheated for assembly. Two men and I give it a definite thumbs up!
I do love nachos and these were no exception. It looks like a lot of instructions but in fact its all fairly straightforward, just get your ingredients ready and work methodically and you can have these on the table in no time at all! I started with the beef sauce , and while that was cooking, made the cheese sauce and then the salsa. Great dish for unexpected company!!! thanks for sharing, made for QUEST TEXMEX region
These nachos were awesome LIG. They were quick and easy to make and tasted great. We really enjoyed them. I especially loved the flavor of the meat and beans. Very filling and satisfying. Made as written, I served with sour cream, guacamole, and salsa on the side. This was made for QC2-Tex-Mex
The nacho's were a hit last night. I did use black beans but I made refried beans out of them, just grated Cheddar instead of the sauce and the jalapenos were from a jar. With all of that covered I have to say that even DH dove (!) in and we loved sharing the plate while watching Capt'n Jack Sparrow's escapades. Lots of good taste here yhay we'll enjoy again. :D
First the bag amount must be wrong 1 22 ounce bad serves 22 people and this recipe serves 4-6 using 2 24 ounce bags. Making the NV not so bad. I thinking it is 2 4 ounce bags. ;)
We love nachos and it is so versatile. The beef n bean topping sounds great as is but trying to keep the beef intake down I skipped it and I use pinto (which I mashed so it stays on the tortillas better) in place of the black beans. As for the cheese sauce I kept it straight cheese keeping the glutin and the extra fat out. I did top with strained kefir, guacamole, olives, and jalapenos. Gracias! Made for ZWT #8
DD prepared this for ZWT5. She added lime juice to pico de gallo and extra Frank's to meat mixture. We all agreed that next time cheese sauce should go on top of meat/beans mixture. The flavors were delicious!
These were pretty good. I made these exactly as stated. I do think the cheese sauce was a little too watery. Other than that, good recipe.
The flavor was pretty good, although I think if I make it again, I might throw some lime juice in, to give it some tang. I left the chips out (because I didn't want them to get soggy) and I put the cheese on top of the meat mixture instead. I ended up calling it "Ugly Nachos" because it didn't look very pretty, but it tasted good. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is it came out REALLY greasy and I drained alot of the grease from the dish before I put it on the table. I think it came from the olive oil and from the cheese. If I make it again, I'll have to figure out a way to drain the grease before assembling it.
