  1. I did the microwave method and it came out great! Thanks for posting!

  2. Great simple potato. I microwaved mine and it came out nice and fluffy. Thanks Little Old Me for a nice keeper. Made for Cookbook Tag.

  3. Mmmmmmm, the perfect baked potato. I used the baking method as opposed to the microwave method and left off the shortening. Just pierced the potatoes with a fork, wrapped in foil, and popped them in the oven! Awesome!

  4. I made my potatoes in the microwave since there were only two of us for supper. Ran out of Idaho potatoes so used red's and enjoyed them even more. Did not rub with shortening and topped with sour cream, a pat of butter, and bacon bits. Perfect baked potato!

  5. put more ingredients to add some spice

Tweaks

  1. I have done my bake potatoes this way for 23 years. Instead of shortening, I like to use butter or margarine to rub on the skins. Before I rub with butter, I take a fork and poke holes all away around the potato, rub with butter and then wrap in aluminum foil.
