Yellow Cake for Strawberries and Whipped Cream

From my husband of 40 years...give that a good review! Light, sweet and tasty! This is officially our new cake recipe! It's great for the strawberries but perfect just as it is. No need to frost either. Thank you for sharing your grandmother's recipe!

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs one at a time and beat. Mix flour and baking powder together. Add flour mixture and water alternately to the cream mixture beginning with flour and ending with flour. Add vanilla. Pour into a greased and floured square pan (*8x8 or 9x9).
  3. Bake about 30 minutes till very light and golden colored. Touch the top for a gentle spring back to know it's done.
