Good information from an allergy publication called "Sully's Living Without" the Spring 2002 issue.
- 1 tablespoon baking soda
- 1⁄2 teaspoon unbuffered vitamin C powder (ascorbic acid) or 1 tablespoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon freshly squeezed lemon juice (kept separate until needed)
- Use one of the above combinations in place of one tablespoon yeast.
Thanks a lot! I really don't like using yeast at home. And now that I am sunre i can substitute these i feel relieve as i can bake just what I like! Thanks! but hey, do these work for bread as well?
