This has really nice flavor and one of those recipes that are easily adjusted to your families taste. I used jalapeno for the bell pepper for more kick and also used homemade taco seasoning and yes, I used jarred Pace picante sauce for the salsa and it worked out great. I halved the recipe all but the rice and this made 1.5 quarts, easily 6 servings!, I plan on freezing the leftovers for another day. I served it up burrito style using large flour tortillas. It would also be great served over cornbread. While this recipe (as written) may be low in fat, it still has a whopping 600 calories per serving, but since the full recipe realistically would serve 8, it is sure to be closer to around 250 calories per 1-cup servings. The flavor and ease of preparation gives this a well deserving 5-stars. Thanks for sharing the recipe.

I used ground turkey, homemade taco seasoning, & brown rice, but otherwise followed the recipe. This reminded me of skillet meals (only better.) Add a salad & dinner's ready! Good salsa is the key I think. Thank you for sharing the recipe! Made for ZWT7.

This is really good! DH had three hearty helpings. This recipe does make a lot. We still had leftovers. I used Salsa Cruda / Pico De Gallo for the salsa. Made for ZWT7

Oh my this is good food at it's best. I replaced the beef with veggie burger crumbles and then just followed the directions, As another reviewer said, this makes a LOT and nobody in the family will go hungry with this recipe. I made a half amount and there was easily enough for 4. What else can I say, this is very good and so simple to make. It's a keeper.

This was really enjoyed by my family. I used a red bell pepper that I had and half a purple onion (it was really big). I really loved the flavor that this had and the rice was VERY good in this. We will be making this again. Thanks for sharing a wonderful, lowfat meal.

This should get more than 5 stars. Very, very good! It makes alot so I froze over half for later dinners. I used red bell peppers instead of green, but that was the only change. Loved this one!
