This is truly the world's best. I lost it a few weeks ago and was miserable. I'm so happy I found this again. This is a huge hit with family & friends because of it's moist texture and the trick is not to use the mixer but fold with a wooden spoon.
Here's a secret I wanted to share that I learned by accident. I didn't have any sour cream, so I added Strawberry Banana Yogurt, and it was the best banana bread I have ever had!!! The little bit of acid from the strawberry in the yogurt really made all other flavors pop more. Try and you'll see!!
I used this recipe for muffins instead of bread. It made almost 3 dozen! I made them last night, and only have a dozen left. Kids loved them. It's a very good recipe, and does not require a mixer....always nice! I will also try as bread. A very good recipe.
The cinnamon ruined it for me!
I made about 20 loaves of this for Xmas presents. 16-year-old son was eating an entire loaf as fast as it cooled! I'm going to substitute almond extract and try adding a little nutmeg or cinnamon.
I found it!! The best banana bread recipe in the world!! It's so moist and full of flavor!! My husband and kids raved at how yummy this bread was; with those reviews, it's a keeper recipe in my book. Instead of cooking it in 2 loaf pans, I baked it in a bundt pan and it fit perfectly. Thanks for sharing!!
