  1. This is so very yumpy! I took this to a small birthday party this weekend, and it was a huge hit! The dressing is awsome, to say the very least! I used a combintion of romaine and spinach. I will be making this again, that is for sure! Thanks for the great recipe Ivy!!!

  2. I made this for a birthday party and then for a barbeque and everyone loved it. The salad has a wonderful crunch to it and the dressing is amazing. When you make this be prepared to be asked for the recipe.

  3. I have NEVER had such a response to a salad as I did to this one! Everyone I have ever made it for has asked for the recipe. Not only is it easy AND good...it is so pretty! I added fancy, curly lettuce and spinach to the sald (in addition to the romaine), which just made it even better--and there was still plenty of dressing to coat the additional amount of greens. This salad is one of the reasons I just love this site.

  4. Awesome recipe ! We really only need 1/2 of the dressing.

  5. Delicious salad, love the dressing! I left the peels on the apple and pear, and swapped the shredded cheese for feta and the cashews for hazelnuts since we had those on hand and our family prefers them.

  2. I took this to a family get-together last night, sort of a Thanksgiving-in-March type deal. I substituted almonds for the cashews and needed to add a little more sugar and salt to round out the flavor of the dressing, but this was great!

  3. I actually got this recipe from another site but, since I am on this one so much, thought I'd found it on Zaar and came up with this exact copy! Awesome flavors, but did make some changes: used half the dressing ingredients; a mix of baby spinach red baby butter lettuce in place of romaine; left out the cheese; used 1 cup slivered almonds in place of cashews; 1 cup strawberries in place of apple (as grandson ate the apple); left out the cranberries entirely; and put the diced pear in with the dressing ingredients to keep it from browning until served. Sliced the strawberries over the greens and served the dressing on the side. There wasn't any left and had taken as a dish for my family. This is a great salad.

  4. We loved this salad. I used monterey jack cheese since I didn't have swiss and it worked just fine. I also used onion powder in place of the onions. Will definately have again.

  5. Great combo of flavors and very tasty dressing. Accurate measurements. I subbed dried cherries for the cranberries, next time might even try dried blueberries. Beautiful looking too.
